Your comment is funny considering you have Floyd in your signature!

Real talk the reason why this fight made sooo much $ is because of Marquez. People pay to see Marquez upset Mayweather. The whole 24/7 show promoted the fight really well... The whole piss drinking thing alone made people interested. Mega fights with a Mexican fighter that is most popular at the time will always do great in pay-per views! Mexican and Mexican American people LOVE to watch boxing and will be loyal to their fighters. I believe that Mexican Independence day weekend made this fight even more money because it's a famous weekend to watch Boxing. Mayweather knows this and for that reason picked Marquez as an opponent... Not to mention the fights Marquez had with Pacquiao it just helped the numbers even more!

The main event was a snooze fest....unless you're really into boxing like myself. The undercard was nothing spectacular...except for the first fight of the night. PAC vs Cotto....should do close to a million....but we'll see....
              please....

i was in a movie theater watching this ****, and im 100% sure the majority of the ppl that came in to watch the fight, were NOT hardcore boxing fans, but CASUAL fans.....

fact is, ppl appreciate great "boxers" when they see them. not everybody needs to see guys beat the hell outta each other to enjoy a boxing match. when the main event finally started NO ONE walked out of the theater, and all i heard was "wows" and "this guy is great" all night.

ppl were amazed he was basically able to hit marquez at will, and slip, duck, and dodge everything ,arquez threw back.

it kills me when ppl assume, the casual fan "has no knowledge" of the sport whatsoever, and can only be entertained by seeing 2 fighters punch-drunk and bleeding all over each other. give ppl more credit, a lot of them do appreciate "the science."

if you thought this fight was boring, it was most likely b/c you were disappointed marquez was limited offensively, or you're one of the types who just want to see SOMEBODY take it to floyd....ppl who have seen floyd fight before got exactly what they expected, and were probably pleasantly surprised he looked so sharp after being away for 2 years....

like dude posted above, the name of the sport is "boxing" so if you want to see a fight, i suggest you go watch UFC.

look guys floyd is the draw as long as he has a formidable opponent he'll do big numbers
at this point in his career he wont fight bums so from now on u will see close to a 1 mill more in each of his next few fight whether it be cotto pac or mosely i think he's just gunna fight cotto tho...o well thats the fight i wanna see any way but then again floyd will have to beat kellypavlik to get a tad bit of respect.. i dought he would get it tho lol

Marquez has never drawn anywhere near those numbers. Not even against Pac.
