  • I'm reading the same thing over and over again. "Marquez sold this PPV". Those who say this are full of **** cause you were not saying this before the fight. No one mentioned anything that the fight will sell cause it's on Mex Independence day and instead they were rejecting the fight as a flop and no one wants to see Floyd. Now everyone is an expert and it was Marquez drawing power who made the PPV so successful. Bull****.

The whole piss drinking thing alone made people interested. Mega fights with a Mexican fighter that is most popular at the time will always do great in pay-per views! Mexican and Mexican American people LOVE to watch boxing and will be loyal to their fighters. I believe that Mexican Independence day weekend made this fight even more money because it's a famous weekend to watch Boxing. Mayweather knows this and for that reason picked Marquez as an opponent... Not to mention the fights Marquez had with Pacquiao it just helped the numbers even more!
You hit the spot! If Floyd fights a nobody he won't sell ****. I think HBO is exagerating with the numbers just to make it more interesting for a Manny/Floyd fight. The truth is that Cotto/Pac already sold out the arena and will defenitely outsell this PPV by 500k at least! That will prove that Manny is a bigger attraction even though they show his fights in the Phillipines for free. Imagine if they did PPV over there! I don't care what people say, there are about 10 million mexicans living in the and I bet you they had a lot to do with that supposed 1 million sales.

Floyd still a draw, but Marquez sold this PPV, thats teh reality!!!!!

I still believe HBO inflates the numbers in every PPV like Dan white does.

I still dont believe they hit the Mill mark!!!

But your partners think Floyd is the one who sold the PPV alone, and thats ridiculous!!

Where was these 10mil Mexicans when PAC fought JMM? Stop whining already. Don't understand why the PR's are hating on FMJ. Maybe it's because they feel Cotto's numbers will be inferior to Floyd's..

              • Pacquiao brought back boxing in Filipino hearts. Most of us began subscribing to HBO PPV whether it is his fight or not; it does not matter any more, at least for me. The fight was heavily advertised in Philippine TV channels, and almost there was daily update the last week before the fight.

What does this mean? Pacquiao must beat Cotto and should not take his next fight lightly, as what he appears to be in Philippine press.

                  • I am a bit surprised. Didn't think this fight was going to do this many PPV buys, but hey let's give the man credit he prove he could sell with a guy that was not really known for beaing a draw.

You are...I just don't understand how people can be so ******. All the people you mentioned were part of Southwest Area of the United States, heavy in Mexican Americans. Of course at the live event it would be Marquez supporters. PPV, however, is national and worldwide.

Admit it, Mayweather is an overall fan favorite of that lazy, sleeping giant of PPV sales. Americans. Britain has respect for him too.. You should have seen the footage of an exhibition he did over in London. Thousands of brits were clamoring to catch a glimpse of Mayweather.

He's a star, like it or not...

I mean, let me put it in a perspective you ****ing understand. How many threads about Money May do you see on this site alone? Exactly. And it directly correlates you hating morons.
