Mayweather vs Marquez Registers 1 Million Pay-Per-View Buys

Don't believe the hype. As for the theaters go, I live in a the great MIA (305). Although I did buy it (PPV), I checked some theaters, out of curiosity. Theaters of 400 capacity had sold 49 seats, another of 450 capacity had sold 17. Weekend, waiting for the fight, so I called other city's. Same thing, cross the states. So don't believe it when they say, "We sold millions". Give credit to the Pee Pee Man for the PPV sales this go round.

JMM sold the main event, but when it comes to PPV Floyd took it.

For those that think the PPV #'s should be attributed to JMM only, think again, be objective and remember - it takes two and FMJ has pretty decent if not great sales numbers in his last few events. How were JMM's numbers in his last few events prior to this one?

marquez has never sold ****.....matter of fact, this fight did higher numbers than pacman-marquez I & II, COMBINED.

Assuming Pac gets pass Cotto, the fight negotiations for Pacquiao/Mayweather is going to be almost impossible. Mayweather will definatly ask for a 60/40 split because he'll feel he is the bigger draw. Good luck getting this fight made!

i was at the dolphin mall and watched this ****.....theater was packed, the only empty seats were the first 2 rows, for obvious reasons....

marquez drew those numbers!!! i didnt hear anyone chanting mayweathers name at the preess conference, the weigh in, or the fight!!! it was all marquez!!!! watch the weigh in again the cameras were shaking from the marquez fans cheering!!!

so many people got fooled into thinking this wasn't a mismatch.

You, like many, are missing the point. It does NOT matter who the fans were for. If Marquez was fighting someone else the Marquez fans would not pay in these numbers. If he is fighting Floyd they pay to see Marquez beat him. It is like the egg. You can have a crap load of Marquez or other fans (the flour) but until you have the egg (Floyd) you can't bake anything.

If it wasn't for Floyd you probably couldn't be motivated enough to even post about this fight would you?
