Did people really believe Tank vs Garcia was happening?

No offence, but you had to be real gullible to believe that was happening in April.

When promoters, fighters, managers etc say a fight is “agreed” it means f*** all. Unless a fight is signed it’s not happening.

The whole announcement was just about publicity, it never felt serious, it was similar to the Fury-AJ bullsh** we’ve seen in the past.

The media deserve some blame too. These supposed “journalists” tweeting about the fight being “agreed”, “done” etc are idiots and should know better. Too many people in the boxing media worry about being first rather than about being right.

Now the fanboys will argue over who ducked who when the reality is: Tank didn’t duck Ryan and Ryan didn’t duck Tank because it was never happening to begin with. Some Boxing fans never learn man…

    I did.

But I'm naive and come from an era where everybody fought everybody.

Yeah, I never bought this one. Tank will rematch Isaac Cruz in April imo, Garcia will fight someone like Ulysse or Spark at 140

I actually did because to me word is bond and I give people the benefit of the doubt.

Big mistake trusting a twink with mental illness with a history of backing out of fights!

Nobody backed out man. How can you back out of a fight you were never committed to?

Again, this comes from the media misguiding the public by jumping the gun.

I’m not sure he even fights April altogether. I do see the Cruz rematch happening in 2023 though.

Boxing has fallen so far in that respect. Leonard was accused of marinating the Tommy Hearns fight for 12 months, nowadays they marinate fights for 12 years.

its easy to say that now that OLDH and Ryan are doing a PR campaign to soften the blow before they back out. But having multiple articles from legitimate sites like ESPN would imply that he is committed to the fight. So he did back out.
