Nowadays, we get an announcement saying they’ve entered negotiations, an announcement saying they’ve “agreed terms”, then an announcement of the unofficial date, then an announcement saying a contract has been sent and then finally we might get an official announcement about the fight. It drives me mad.
Yeah I can see that and not the first time I see you post it
    It is what it is
I mentioned matchmakers as an example but many facets of the game have changed
Fighters have much more say to their careers than we are lead to believe but still doesn’t work cause there’s always someone that takes the fall
You mention Pac-May but they were from a different thread , although May excelled afterwards to get the word out about details whether it be $$$ or demands
Now everything is out in the open
Say what you will about the Bobfather but he’s still the most discreet promoter out there
Old school sometimes even too old for himself lol

Back in the day we had matchmakers , to the point where you knew their names Todd le Bœuf , Goodman , Trampler just to mention a few
I can’t think of one today
Promoters play all the facets of the game and boxers are on social media

          - - Oscar just let his longtime matchmaker, Robert Diaz go.

Anyway, Tanksy gonna have to run the judicial gauntlet for his hit and run auto accident where he injured a pregnant lady before fleeing the scene with one of his hoodlum buddies. The Big House beckons where l'l floydy can give him tips on how to stay safe in protected isolation from the rest of the inmates looking for fun wif the little feller.

In short, the fight was never practical, but rather social media tough guy wannabees posturing trying to out thug each other.

You forgot the last bit: one of the fighters pulls out at the last minute for Covid
