Don’t forget that insane contact he gave Tevin Farmer

Put on some danm fights and they might make some money. To much bs, to much trying to hype up boxers with 20-30 crap wins against tomatoe cans then they get exposed. When the best fight the best then there is money to be made

Canelo contributed to a considerable loss of revenue that DAZN, was hoping to recover from a third fight between Canelo and GGG.
That was supposed to take place in 2019, shortly after DAZN signed him to the biggest contract in boxing up to that time.
Unfortunately for everyone (except for Canelo), Canelo reneged on the deal, and cost DAZN a fortune in lost revenue.
DAZN wanted to sign the top fighter's at the time, and they had to pay through the nose to get them to sign lengthy contract's.
Let's not forget what a scoundrel Eddie Hearn is wheeling, and dealing behind the scene's, (it's just a losing proposition/business all around).

Good, I'm happy. When you're paying Canelo tens of millions to fight the opponents of his choice with no chance in hell of beating him, this is magnificent.

To be clear: these number are from 2021. There's nothing in them for 2022. So not really anything to do with 'lately'.
And the losses are driven by the cost of Serie A and Bundesliga rights. The Italian rights alone from 2021 to 2024 cost $3bn. So the losses are not driven significantly by the 'Amerian takeover.'

Revenue grew at around 79%, while losses grew 79% also, outstripping revenue in absolute terms. I'm not saying those aren't worrying numbers, but 2022 could look very different, given the big cost of the football rights would grow 0% from 2021 to 2022. The big jump in losses would be for 2021 when they had to start paying for those rights. Obviously, I don't know what the numbers are for 2022 and DAZN tends to play their cards tight to their chest, but there's nothing outrageously or obviously false in their suggestion that they will start making money this year, given the pattern of growth in revenue alongside the presumed plateau in costs that they should experience. Obviously I'm not saying their US venture is going well, just that it doesn't appear to be a big part of these numbers.
In his dreams, Fast Eddie has enough power and DAZN money at his disposal to be able to blow over $2billion on the American takeover. In reality though, Footbal (soccer) is king and Eddie is going to have to carry on dreaming.
