I think it became imbued on Spence early on that prime fights don't have to happen right away. It may have been someone like Mayweather whispered something like that on his ear. They're of the belief that some fights are like paintings in museums or ancient artifacts. Their worth is many times over the older they get. There's no sense of urgency in the guy. He figured in 2 accidents and he's talking about making the Crawford fight in May. Problem is the opponent has to flex his muscles in the gym, train and be active. That's why the fight was not meant to happen last year. Bud Crawford had no clue what's going on. He wasn't part of the group. He was just treated a minor player in the marination game they were playing.

Where was all this 'market' talk when Ugas, Danny Garcia, and the blown up lightweight got fights? The real Errol Spence and Al Haymon came out as soon as a fighter they know they can't beat chased him.

If these fights don't materialize, it is the A side's fault, period. This case is no different.

Crawford is not without faults here but we have a trainer actually counting Al's pockets here, how nice of him.

Some people are saying this is James' and Spence's way of avoiding Crawford. I see it as James saying Crawford had little leverage before his PPV flop and has even less now. Bud bailed on a fight with Spence in favor of a guaranteed $10 million cake walk, which is fine and dandy. But how many more of those big paydays will he get for fighting fringe competition? Arum once said Crawford is not very marketable, Crawford said Arum is racist, which is ridiculous. If Bob can make a buck off promoting a fighter, he'll do it, period!

I don't have any knowledge of how Bud and his team think about the situation, but if it were me and I just got $10 Million for an easy fight I might be less stringent on the financial demands for the fight with Spence since I'd be chasing legacy. Not saying he should get screwed, but maybe that fight with Avanesyan will prove to be beneficial to negotiations. Especially since these days PBC seems to be an acronym for Practically Broke Company.

According to common sense, logic and boxing analysts, either fight Spence or the number one ranked contender … do you know who that is? Not Avanesyan.
              BOOTS. BOOTS. BOOTS

So, Crawford basically ducked two guys in one moment.
Boot's don't want that smoke, have you a brain In that head dude, he's petitioning the IBF, he's going the Ibf route, him and his team don't want that work. Regardless of what there spitting on social media.

Mannn, it’s really seeming like Team Spence don’t want to fight; which in turn means Charlo won’t happen. Bud has limited options at 47 & 54. The best option may be to give up on getting the belts and fight Ennis or Ortiz (mandatory 2 years & shows no interest in enforcing it). Overall sucks for boxing. I just want to see fights … maybe Plant-Benevidas will deliver ..

But Spence is gonna fight "once upon a very long time ago" Thurman, and that is somehow a good fight that does a lot for Spence and the build up ?

Al can't risk Spence losing because Tank has two trials coming up and could wind up in the pokie for a year or two. That would leave PBC with virtually no other money makers besides Wilder. Al isn't ******.
