Bud wasn't confident that his take from the revenue of his fight with Spence would suffice. Come on man, do you really think you'd make more fighting Avenesyan? EVERYONE wants to see you fight Spence!! AND you agreed to the terms!

This was the entire point of Crawford getting transparency on expenses to “review and approve expenses”. So he can get his money. And things like this don’t happen:

The TC is ducking started from TC had nothing to do with Spence or PBC who was practically mouse quiet, people added up the pieces and then watched Bud contradict himself a 100 times and decided for themselves Bud was ducking. Even now Spence is respectful and not throwing anything other than Bud could have done things differently, he is not making movies about how bad TCs resume is, how TC is not the top dawg he is, how TC hasn't beaten anyone, Spence doesn't hate on anybody and is one of the most grounded fighters in the sport.

Uh huh. The Spence is ducking TC came from years of Crawford saying, I want to fight Spence. While Spence said many times, Crawford is on the wrong side of the street, it's up to my promoter, my team, etc. He did not want to fight Crawford, that much is plain.

Now they go into negotiations and apparently Spence is walking around at 185 in Oct, a month before PBC is supposedly still negotiating a fight for November. Then Crawford, in shape and ready, makes the fight with Ava, and says the Spence fight will probably happen next year because Spence isn't fighting until 2023, and he agreed to zero guarantee but wants to oversee the finances so he doesn't feel screwed....since his end is all coming out of the profit.

So not only did Bud agree to terms, he also told the truth about Spence not fighting until 2023. So it didn't matter if he fought Ava, he would have lost 10 million to sit on his hands waiting for Spence.

But sure. Crawford made 10 mil, added another top ten WW to his KO reel, and is ready to fight Spence when Spence is done with his third rehab. Crawford is a real moron, LOL.

Spence fans look like total clowns at this point and cannot stand it.

Anyone who has a career where they negotiate contracts knows that Crawford acted in bad faith. The guy is a complete scumbag and I hope PBC freezes him out.

Keith Idec knows it's acceptable journalistic practice to edit out all the "you knows" when quoting someone so it's difficult not to conclude that they've been left in to subtly mock Spence.

This whole saga is boring now. I'm fine with them not fighting anyway, it probably wouldn't look that much different to Bradley - Alexander as a spectacle, i.e. anticlimactic.

To be fair, Idec does that in every story, but you’re right: the thing that is supposed to separate a stenographer from a journalist is a journalist has the ability and power to edit quotes in a way that doesn’t alter what’s being said but removes extraneous stuff. Why Idec chooses to act more like a stenographer and include every “um,” “you know” and “uh” that is on the recording is beyond me - and it’s beyond irritating.

I honestly think that it's Spence's side that is holding up this fight. I don't think either fighter fears the other, but I do think that Spence and team are looking at the risk that a Bud fight presents. Spence definitely has more negotiating power because of his exposure and three belts that he currently holds. But that also means that he has more to lose than Bud. And I mean more to lose outside of the competition aspect. I don't think they're too anxious to throw him in their with Bud and risk losing out on his three belts and the name that he brings to PBC and Al Haymon. Bud just wants to be given his respect as a champion. Give it to him and make the fight happen already.

I do not even care. Make it happen I will buy it with friends. Do not, we will reward who does make a fight worthy of our money as we are fans of the sport. Move on, move up, agree, retire, switch to WWE or Demolition Derby circuit.... just makes a decision.

This is a great, legacy defining, money making, mouth watering match-up. But at this point of the soap opera, I am starting to lean that it does not happen.

If you're a journalist I want you to quote exactly what the fighter said. The fact that the "you knows" are irritating is unfortunate but that's on the fighter not on Keith Idec.

Leo Santa Cruz does this a lot too.

Anyway, Dud Crawford needs to nut up and just make this fight already. Just like Haney did with Kambosos.

Folks like TMT continue to try to spin the lie that Crawford didn’t take this fight when anyone can take ONE LOOK at Spence and see there was no way he was in condition for a Nov or Dec fight while weighing 180 LB’s then and now… some people are so far up Spence azz that it makes them look like imbeciles!
