In the spirit of transparency Haymon needs to demand proof of the PPV buys for Crawford’s last fight.
That will be the starting point of who deserves what when it comes to money.
Crawford tried to call his own shot and by all accounts the fight bombed spectacularly.Comment

Remember when Crawford was so confident that he didn't care about anything other than getting contracts signed to fight Spence?
Now look at Crawford. Doing exactly what I said he would do.
Spence said from the START: "Why wouldn't I fight the easier fights and the fight you?"
and Crawford even said, "You're smart but not that smart."
THEN what did Spence do? Won the IBF, won the WBC, won the WBA titles.
All the while Crawford was taking nonsense fights that had no leverage in negotiations. Spence had 2(!) layoffs in that time. Do you know what Crawford did? Fight bums, washed up Brook with 2 broken orbital bones, and Porter.
I said from years back "Spence is going to win each belt and have all the leverage in the negotiations. Once that happens, we'll see how serious Crawford really wants to fight. Because he will have no leverage in negotiations"
It's going to happen regardless.
The main development with the fight between Crawford and Spence is going to be: Who is the bigger draw?
While Crawford is spending his time constantly calling out Spence and fighting B level fighters. Spence earned his strap, fought a popular boxer in Mikey, then took the strap of Porter, and is trying to set up a fight with the 2nd biggest draw currently boxing: Manny Pacquiao.
This will all lead up to Spence being the main man in the fight against Crawford.
Then you will see just how much Crawford really wants that fight.
Because Crawford will have zero leverage in negotiations. He's not even trying to fight anyone worth a damn. Khan? Horn? ...Lame.
So when it comes time to fight Crawford. It will. Why? Because Spence already said his goal is every belt in the division.
Crawford will be taking a 35% split. Hell, he might not even get a split. He might just get a guaranteed lump sum up front with zero gate and ppv like Algieri against Pacquiao.
At that point. You will see just how much Crawford actually wants that fight.
Now look at Crawford.
Man doesn't really want to fight. Now he sees he has no leverage, doesn't want to take B side money, doesn't want to give any ground.
So much for that confidence that he would beat Spence no matter what.Last edited by F l i c k e r; 12-19-2022, 11:16 AM.Comment

What happened when Crawford approached Danny to fight, or Thurman and Porter when they were champs? People really acting like everyone is out here fighting PBC guys. It’s called the PBC “island” for a reason. Your prediction wasn’t much of a prediction, since evey other day a PBC head was telling us “we’re keeping it in-house”.
Crawford approaching them is no different than Spence approaching them before he became the top man. They didn't want to give anything to either of them. Either way, the burden is/was on Crawford to make fights happen and he didn't. His own words were "I'm letting Bob Arum handle it" and he never tried to force the issue. The result? Him left behind with no negotiation strength.
Why would Spence budge at all when he's the one with all the belts? It's on Crawford to live up to his word when he confronted Spence backstage at an event talking all that nonsense and now some 3 years later, doesn't want to fight because he can't get Spence to agree to fight on some rando- BLK streaming service.Comment

Moving the goal post and digging for dirt because they dropped the ball is like putting blood in shark infested waters. They will try to stay quiet and make this vanish.. Spence and Charlo just need to stay quiet for that plan to work. A little booze and social media and back to square one.Comment

I don't buy into that NSB promotion favorites stuff.

And what exactly is Spence supposed to be budging on? Everything was agreed to except Spence giving Crawford the books. Which apparently wasn’t a “major deal point”.Last edited by SplitSecond; 12-19-2022, 11:48 AM.Comment
