How Detrimental is it for Canelo’s legacy moving Bivol Rematch from May to September?

I don’t need to see a rematch. I don’t need to see much of Canelo anymore. He started young been around a long time. I’ve seen him improve. I don’t think he can change his style or adapt at this point though. His last fight with GGG was as forgettable as everyone knew it would be. He has to go away for a while. If Beterbiev beats Bivol then I’d watch Canelo fight Artur not that I’d give him a chance. But at least Artur would get paid. Rather see Canelo drop to MW and drag a guy up if he has to. Hard to care at this point. Need to be intrigued. Over it.

Pac never lost rematch, pac won 2 rematchas with jmm if not scorecard error and lost 4th fight, he actually gave someone 4 attempts which floyd didn't dare do. Pac wasn't obligated to give jmm a rematch. Which again proved anything can happen.
there was a s much need for floyd to give rematch as much as there was for Rahman and mcall to give lennox one, or pac to give barrera one. Floyd fans thought pac should give cotton a rematch at 154. We know floyd fans put absolutely no demands on floyd, and don't take you serious

Nothing in either Floyd/Canelo or especially Floyd/Pac fights that would lead any intelligent person (that leaves you out) to believe a rematch would have a different result. Very little public demand for a rematch in either case. No promoter willing to take a gamble in either case.

If I recall correctly, lewis had a rematch clause. Pac didn't have one, I don't remember if MAB have one, but it was no need for one more fight. They made a lot of money though. Definitely, canelo didn't deserve one. I'm not a fraud fan, but the two times he was in close fights, by the way I think he loss to castillo and chino the first time. He rematched them.

Yeah exactly I was a big fan of golovkin but I have always maintained that he has hinged the latter part of his career or legacy around the canelo fights either for the money or truly wanting to fight one of the better fighters of this generation. The only time I disagree with canelo is when he fights people like rocky fielding and avni yildirim then says what has benavidez done to earn a fight with me it's like what did those two subpar opponents do to earn that opportunity?

Also if I'm being honest apart from jacobs, canelo and brook ggg doesn't really have the most impressive resume at 160.

Not true at all. Not even “scorecards could help AJ” under Hearn. From Kovalev to Bivol, nobody complained about scorecards. Canelo finished BJS and Plant yet Haymonite fans still complained about scorecards just to downplay Canelo. Not one card helped Canelo in the Bivol fight. It wasn’t even a close UD.

What Canelo has to win is that Canelo fought Bivol barbarically which he never did before against that type of a fighter. Seeing how he can’t dent Bivol in that manner I expect a completely different type of fight as he came back in GGG2.

There was nothing close about Floyd’s EASY wins over Canelo or especially Pac. Absolutely no need for a rematch in either fight. No public demand in either case and no promoter willing to lose money.

You make very valid points and have proven it. More importantly Floyd bragged about opponents being “eeeasy” from the biggest PPVs and was all about “money” and “currency” yet didn’t do rematches like historical rematches you cited. It’s without a doubt Floyd and Haymon were scared of losing value had they lost.

Canelo can’t change his style yet has the most versatile styles in boxing. Fans are worried Canelo is going to win the rematch
