If Usyk pays him he might step aside.

So, I guess this means that Tyson Fury would get at least two tune up fights before challenging Usyk for the undisputed crown. Unless he decides to vacate and not defend his IBF title.

The IBF does not play. They are not as flexible or as corrupt as the WBC. They say what they mean and mean what they say. They even stripped Canelo Alvarez of his IBF Middleweight title for failure of fighting his mandatory challenger.

People are blaming the IBF for an nonsensical decision.
Are you serious man? Hearn is deliberately and intentionally trying to block this fight by pressuring the IBF to strip Usyk of his belt in order to give it to Anthony Joshua.

Of course he is, he’s the promoter of AJ and Hrgovic.

I don’t like what he’s doing but I don’t blame him for doing it. Any other promoter would do the exact same.

The much bigger problem is the IBF are enabling it.

There’s a definite bias and lack of consistency with this ruling though.

Errol Spence is IBF welterweight champion, his last mandatory was June 2018. Ennis won an eliminator in May 2022, the mandatory wasn’t and still hasn’t been called.

Usyk has only been champion for a year and Hrgovic only won an eliminator in August 2022 yet this mandatory is being called with no exemptions.

                This decision absolutely stinks.

Canelo, Spence where are they're mandatories?
This is rematchrooms revenge with a nice big case full of cash for the ibf after they were exposed by Fury for demanding commercial control and A-side status for Kanye.

Just when i feel relieved mismatchroom can't stagnate the division any more with never ending rematchroom clauses for his hypejob cash cow & think the division will flow freely again..... "HERE'S EDDIE"

The ibf needs binning by everyone. Hopefully Usyk gets Hrgovic out of the way early new year.

                    2. Yes, it is only two weeks away.
                    3. Given the historical significance it carries, particularly in the HW division, a lot.
                    4. Considering the Saudis were putting up big money for the undisputed bout, this could scupper Fury vs. Usyk in the worst case scenario.

                    A very ignorant comment.
The historical significance comes from the two best in the division facing each other. How much longer do we need to confer authority on these corrupt sanctioning bodies? We need to move on to the post-belt era, where putting the best fights on rather than scheduling them around four moribund sanctioning bodies is the priority.

I accept your comment re. the Saudis though. Whatever I may think about the term "undisputed" it presumably means something to them so if it impacts the price they pay then I guess the IBF needs to be on the line. It's a shame we couldn't just get this fight on for December 17th - why didn't Usyk want to go with that date?

You have to factor the rotation in though. It would appear the WBC's was next for Spence. The IBF was always next for Usyk, then the WBA. You can quibble about the timing but the IBF were going to call it at some point.

Doesn't this just highlight the ******ity of having four sanctioning bodies in this quest for "undisputed" status? I resisted the WBOgus for the longest time because three was more than enough, but silly fanboys were like "but muh favourite fighter holds it" rather than thinking about what was best for the sport.
