actually it would be horrible for fight fans. it would only embolden them to show more ppv of disgraceful match ups like a undefeated welterweight vs a career featherweight. This is only good for hbo & rich powerful boxers, bad for boxers who have to give up fairness in order to make some money & for fans who continue to get swindled by unfair abomination match ups.

I don't agree. I feel that we will get better cards from top to bottom.
With more money you lure better boxers with undercards.
The 90's had some killer undercards because of this fact.

I see it as a benefit to all when people watch our sport.

Fans won't let the bad match ups continue if there are a lot of them. You'd have a ton of vocal people, rather than the minority we are now.

Also it shows that only having 3 PPV's a year by HBO that it creates more demand instead of the over-saturation of having 10 PPVs a year. More good fights on HBO like Pavlik/Williams,Margarito/Mosley,Klit/Arreola where a few years ago they would have been on PPV.

Maybe 1.6 is an exaggeration but 800k-1mill is already more than a success since "boxing fans" were denying this fight and eager for it do 400-600k.

800k PPV buys against Marquez is making a statement and then some. 1Mill PPV buys vs Marquez should stop the arguments of who the best PPV seller is(of MMA or Boxing). 1.6 would give me a heart attack.
