I wish it was 16 million so we could watch the price of the ppv drop.

I don't know why anyone would hate a good showing for this.

Any good ppv numbers are good for boxing and shows that new fans are coming on board.
Sometimes I wish though on events like these, there were more sparks so casual fans would become more interested.

The only real reason to be wary of these numbers is that, if true, Mayweather will make negotiations with Pacquiao that much more difficult. Yes, he will have reason for that, but it's the biggest fight in boxing by far right now and we could see it fall apart based on these PPV numbers.

At first I thought these numbers were inflated by counting all the ticket sales to the movie theatres, but if you estimated about 50 people per screen, at approximately 180 screens, that only accounts for 9,000 people. Obviously, if you get very optimisitic and say 100 people per screen, that's only 18,000.

If nothing else, I do hope the number is above 1 million, because then ESPN's Dan Rafael will have to shave his beard.
