One of the fighters is still fighting around the time of the proposed fight. The other isn't. Who exactly was ready to fight in November? Seems like the guy who actually is going to fight at the end of the year. My guess is Spence wants to fight and PBC been stalling and feeding him lines about it coming from Crawford, who clearly is ready to fight this year, and PBC is a bunch of liars trying to carve out as much for themselves as possible at the expense of whoever they can screw. Business as usual.

Very big Crawford fan here and I must say the optics are horrible. I’m glad he’s not going to go into the Spence fight in a 12-14 month layoff, but the sudden announcement of this all of a sudden out of left field is no Bueno. I hope the fight eventually happens 2023.

It's not that I think either Ortiz or Ennis wouldn't be good fights. Spence has 3 out of 4 titles and the guy with the last one doesn't want to fight. Nothing more do at 147 and I think the weight is a massive issue. Just go to 154.

It's all good, because Boots is only 25! Once he gets a strap @ 147, he'll either fight Vergil, or move up to 154 to get at Spence! Crawford has to face Vergil after Avanesyan, unless Vergil don't want it!

The lows of being a boxing fan. Crawfords side will blame Spence. Spence's side will blame Crawford. Fans will argue, although we know nothing because we weren't involved in the negotiations, and we ultimately lose out. Always the way.

That's a fight I want to see. I like Spence too of course, an old school type fighter, methodical, gets the job done though not flashy.

As the first poster said, you, me, no one except those directly involved knows what took place. We weren’t at those negotiating tables and the fans will then do what fans do…argue over nothing.

Exactly this. Not going to pass judgement on one or the other because I have no idea what was in the contract and what were the sticking points.

I don't think either is ducking the other so much as I think you have two guys who are incredibly proud and think they have a certain value.
