Comments Thread For: Spence Reacts To Crawford-Avanesyan: Everyone Can Now See Who Was The Holdup!

The kings of the welterweight division will have to wait some more if a fight they've long been wanting will finally happen. On Thursday, hours after BoxingScene.com senior writer and columnist Keith Idec reported there was growing concern

The lows of being a boxing fan. Crawfords side will blame Spence. Spence's side will blame Crawford. Fans will argue, although we know nothing because we weren't involved in the negotiations, and we ultimately lose out. Always the way.

This looks like Crawford feels he's worth a certain amount.
Spence side want proof he's worth that.
Crawford says let me prove it and signs for a PPV.
      If Crawford sells X amount,
Spence's side will be forced to give in.
      if he doesn't,
Crawford will be forced to concede and sign as is.
      Either way,
this fight is too big to let go at this stage of negotiations.

'Bud' was not going to sit around like a chump, rusting away for a year. PBC knew very well that Terence was going to fight in December for months, and they kept delaying. What the public is seeing is that Terence Crawford is not your puppet, he is his own boss, free and independent.

As the first poster said, you, me, no one except those directly involved knows what took place. We weren’t at those negotiating tables and the fans will then do what fans do…argue over nothing.

Damage limitation from Spence. It's more than obvious he didn't want it.
And if he wanted, he only wanted it for retirement money, meaning there would be nothing left for Bud.

btw, wasn't this fight supposed to be made during Canelo fight week?

These greedy as fighters deserve no fan support and fans should boycott their a_s! I mean really why are we paying our hard earned dollars to the networks live gate, cable then receive crappie fights or not the fight you want. I didn’t here a soul mention Boots Ennis name! The hell with Spence and Crawford I’m behind Boots until he becomes full of himself.

This reminds me a lot of the first AJ Wilder negotiations when they were both with Showtime. Make us think their negotiating in good faith while another side is putting together another fight under everyone’s nose. Now it’s all about spin control.

There's already proof of what Crawford's worth. He's shown he can barely sell ppvs with Khan and Kell Brook, how is he possibly going to sell any more with a David Avanesyan fight?
