That is also going to depend on HOW he loses. If he doesn’t put up a good effort, it may drop him a little in the eyes of promoters and matchmakers. I hope he has a great performance and would love to see him pull a big upset.

"My health has to come first" - mate, you're about to go into a boxing ring and get punched in the face for 36 minutes. Dont be a pr1ck.

The extra pound or so was not for added power

        But rules are rules, so.....
Oh well I guess it’s fine then. Typical dimwit comment by a dimwit, nobody should expect any better from you at this point thought should they?

He was the champ. He was the favorite. He was fighting in his hometown. I mean really.... 2 full pounds? Then he will rehydrate up to close to 140 as a guess?

Obviously. Because respect for your opponent, respect for your belts, rules, conditioning, professionalism, and a fair fight sure did not.

So with Shakur being stripped here, I assume he can’t move up and be #1 contender for the WBO 135 strap now?

Top Rank doesn't want to lose the money and promotion that they put into this fight.

But, business wise, you can guarantee that he was under a lot of pressure to move forward with the fight.

I don't think his team negotiated very well if they only got him an extra $50k though.

Hopefully they got a rehydration clause with another weigh in fight day - but I doubt it.
I understand his decision to move foward with the Fight
                  But
I just wish he had gotten at least $100k extra for the stress

I don't blame Stevenson, screwing up your heart and kidneys isn't worth it. Stevenson vs Davis is the fight at 135

Concecao probably thinking this is his opportunity to shine and that if he can’t beat him at 131.6, he can’t beat him at 130. But he’s probably mainly thinking about adding that name to this resume as a win.
