You are one angsty teenager.
between 100-200k seems fine for guys as well known as Canelo & Golovkin for a nation that loves boxing, and at that price. Joshua got 650k vs Ruiz, so people are willing to stay up.Comment

But they got the fight made. For whatever business end they targeted.Canelo and GGG were reported to earn around $65m and $43m respectively based on guarantees, bonuses etc.
The fight only did 550-575k buys per Dan Rafael, that’s less than 50m in PPV revenue.
I imagine the gate was around 20m again but that still leaves you way short of the money you needed to recoup.
Based on what they paid the fight would have needed to do similar numbers to the 2nd fight for DAZN to merely break even. That fight was on HBO and both fighters were close to their peaks. Did they really think they were going to do the same numbers as HBO on a f***ing app with a 40 year old Golovkin and Canelo coming off a loss?
DAZN need to start firing some of these clowns or they’re gonna run the business into the ground. They’re doing it already tbh. Game changed will soon become game over the way it’s going.
The alternative would be to not get the fight made.
You're a boxing fan, not a network executive. Why do you care?Comment

I didn’t even want to see the third fight. We all knew GGG was well past it.
The way DAZN are going there’ll be far less fights getting made cause they’ll be going out of business. Their latest accounts showed $1.3 Billion in losses. It needs addressing.Last edited by RJJ-94-02=GOAT; 09-21-2022, 03:59 AM.Comment

There would be less money and less competition in the sport. That will be a bad thing. So enjoy DAZN making fights.
I'm sure DAZN would rather turn a profit, but most companies disrupting industries don't do that for a few years. If they're growing, they're probably doing ok. Ask Uber, Amazon...
