If you think this is just a coincidence then you’re a Canelo groupie. His best opponents require a lot of energy to compete with and so he fades as the fight goes on. He wasted a ton of energy just trying to win the early rounds with Golovkin. Canelo was getting picked off with the jab and had to fight hard to gain the edge with old G. Old man GGG is still a much better fighter than most of (if not all) the other super middleweights. Benevidez has lots of potential though, if he can continue making weight…Not sure how long he will be able to stay at SMW though.
Yep...even with the punch output being a fight that Canelo likes (vs what GGG likes), Canelo has to expend a lot of energy with GGG, because GGG is more or less always in front of him. He can't rest at all during the rounds, like he could do with Plant and BJS who couldn't back him up at all.

Good post....we do have a few good boxing heads on here

Most morons wanted this fight. It shouldn’t of happened period. I didn’t pay for it. Did you?

I find the humor in how he states his wrist has been injured since the Plant fight. That could possibly explain the lackluster performance against Bivol and I'm not taking anything away from Bivol but Canelo seriously under performed in that fight.

A 40 year old Canelo would have been murdered by a 32 year old GGG. So no, this does absolutely not prove that Canelo was always better than GGG. It just proves that a 32 year old Canelo won a decent decision against a 40 year old GGG.
Those are hypotheticals. In the real world, Canelo beat him twice convincingly.

You're right and I agree. That was one the worst and fastest stoppages I've seen in a prizefight. At least to me, it appeared that Plant was winning the fight and could have continued before the ref waved it off.

Yet still tired against a 40 year old past prime fighter

Guy has no chance vs bivol

Let me just say prime 30-32 year old GGG would've KO'd any version of Canelo and I say that with 100% certainty! He was just so fluid back then and had super sharp reflexes which allowed him to cut off the ring in devastating style. This is why he was labelled as a monster and nobody wanted to fight him.
