Why on earth would Wlad fight him he literally never fought anyone to get a shot at him and he was constantly inundated with mandatories...

Funny he got the opportunity to fight Whyte for career high payday - refused.

Was in the rankings to fight AJ and signed with Matchroom could've been fighting in place of Wlad for the vacant WBA but píssed hot then later got offered another career high payday to fight AJ but passed it up and we know what Ruiz done when he got that same shot in his place...

I like Ortiz and wish he would’ve fought more when he was young. Unfortunately now he is more of an Areola, D Whyte or Chisora- like a guy a good up and comer has to beat up on to prove he’s at least legit . He’s no longer worthy of a title challenge

Much respect to Ortiz but his legs are shot. As with all Cubans, he is probably way older than admitted. The top guys will crush him but I do not blame him for wanting one last payday!

No, I don't think so. Ruiz, the Parker Joyce winner or Hrgovic are more deserving. Nobody wants to see you fight Fury or Joshua.

I would like Ortiz to fight Arreola. That would be a good fight. Ortiz is now a gatekeeper for the heavyweight division. For a lot of the top guys, Ortiz is high risk-low reward fight.

I guess he is too young to RNR and too young to die.

How about Ortiz and 'big ****' Zhang? Older HW fight, Cuba/China...

                  Conveniently left Joshua off there....

It pains me to say this but Luis Ortiz’ days as a title contender are over.

He is a gatekeeper status now. His body is beginning to show signs of an aging fighter.

He is a washed out fighter at the present moment. Very sadly and unfortunately he is going to be used as a stepping stone for the younger heavyweight prospects coming up.

I wish that he would retire but he can’t because he needs the money.
