    Both sports are in a dry spell right now. Too much ducking and dodging, not enough action and good fights.

Spence came off a eye injury and still about to fight more times and earn more than majority of UFC top fighters. Boxing promoters aren’t spending 100s of millions on promo while barely selling 300K ppvs. After Spence-Crawford boxing will once again have the highest PPV of the year. Way more celebrities at boxing events too.
      Spence/Mikey did 375k and Spence/Danny did 250k, and those are the best numbers boxing gets on PPV in America when its not a Canelo fight, sole exception in the last 5 years being Fury/Wilder. You talk about the UFCs promotional budget while ignoring that over 100m was spent on the ****ing fight purse for AJ and Usyk.

      Lol @ bragging about the boxing "once again" having the highest PPV of the year too, like its a common thing nowadays. Not to mention It wouldnt take much for the UFC to outdraw it. Conor vs practically anyone does more buys than Spence/Crawford and Canelo/GGG 3 combined.

      And no, none of those guys save for maybe Usyk have better resumes, lmao @ Spence especially considering he hasnt even fought his most obvious opponent that people have been demanding to see him fight for years. Usman constantly fought the consensus top guys in the division, Colby was his Crawford and they fought twice while both were in their primes.

      The answer is simple, its not true.

      Biggest PPVs post Floyd/Pac.

      * Floyd/Conor - 4.3m buys
      Conor/Khabib - 2.4m
      *KSI/Logan Paul 2 - 2m
      Conor/Poirier 3 - 1.8m
      Conor/Poirier 2 - 1.6m
      Conor/Diaz 2 - 1.6m

      * Tyson/RJJ - 1.6m
      Conor/Cowboy - 1,3m
      Conor/Alvarez - 1.3m
      Conor/Diaz 1 - 1.3m
      Usman/Masvidal 1 - 1.3m

      Canelo/GGG 1 - 1.3m
      Conor/Aldo - 1.2m
      Fury/Wilder 2 - 1,2m
      Rousey/Holm - 1.1m
      Rousey/Nunes - 1.1m

      Canelo/GGG 2 - 1.1m
      UFC 200 - 1m
      Canelo/Chavez jr - 1m
      * Floyd/Logan Paul 1m

      And keep in mind literally half of the biggest boxing PPVs, including the top 3, involve retired boxers, Youtubers and MMA fighters.

      The gap widens even more in favour of the UFC when you look at the next tier, ie fights that dont do huge 1m+ buyrates but do still good numbers like 500k, 700k etc etc.

        So you dont find "artistry" in fights that can dynamically switch into a bunch of different ranges and scenarios in a split second, and fighters that are able to adapt to that and fluidly mix a bunch of different things together?

        You wouldnt say there was artistry in guys like Anderson, GSP, Fedor or in the modern day someone like Volkanowski?

              Like I told you, of course its not going to look the same when boxing is just punches with constant ref enforcement of how the fight should go.

              The funny thing is, boxing fans use all this "sloppy" "art" etc talk to attack MMA but then when boxing has a crazy slugfest war with people getting rocked constantly etc everyone goes crazy. Look at how people reacted to Fury/Wilder 3.

                  How much money does the boxing industry make?
                  The market size, measured by revenue, of the Boxing Promoters industry is $438.6m in 2022.
