Wilder working on his left hook

Thumbs up for speed, turn the the first over at the last second for power.
Not a fan of Wilder but props to Scott for addresssing a glaring weakness. -
Too late in the game for him to develop a hook. He does throw one in occasion but doesn't rely on it and it is not the way he fights. When he tries to use it now he will think of it instead of it being instinctive.Comment

The best I ever saw Wilder box was his first fight against Stiverne. He actually boxed well, it was his first fight that he didn't win by KO (still his only non-KO win) and the last time he focused on boxing instead of just landing a bomb. If he had taken that different path it's difficult to say where it would have gone.Comment

Absolutely 1000% wrong. Thumbs down is less power wth.
Props to Malik? He's the absolute WORSE trainer in boxing. He's got Wilder throwing horrid hooks. Look at Wilders form after landing a shot lol!

Funny thing is that I wonder if he knew how to throw a proper left hook, would the outcome of the first Fury fight have been different? The left was a slapping one if I recall for that 12th round knockdown.Comment

There's only so much any trainer can do.
As for the hook, try it out next time you're in the gym. I've always found that turning the hook over adds power but hey, maybe that's just me.Comment

Not a boxer by any means, but you know you might possibly have internally rotated shoulders if you’re finding thumbs down easier.
I mean, I could be miles wrong with that…Comment
