Although I think this is a ****** match-up, I'm interested to see what Benn does when faced with a bigger/taller opponent with decent punch resistance. I disliked Eubank's lack of killer instinct against Williams, and I'm not sure if he can afford to let off the gas in this fight. He's gonna need to beat Benn into submission. Additionally, I wonder if Eubank's punch resistance will suffer after boiling down to 156.

The fight is at 156 pounds, people are still continuing to act like Benn is facing Eubank Junior at maximum strength.
Eubank Junior is taking a big risk in my opinion. Shades of Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao.
De La Hoya underestimated how making 146 pounds, would affect his training and performance vs Pacquiao.
Oscar De La Hoya lost that fight partly in training camp.
I don't think at that time, Pacquiao would of beaten De La Hoya at 154 pounds etc.

I like this fight.
Didn't see it happening because of the weight difference.
Gotta respect Benn for stepping up 2 divisions. Not a fan of catchweights, but Eubank doesn't really have to lose much (4lbs) at 156, so I don't see him as drained. I'd have forced him down to 154 if I were Benn lol
Benn will be a huge underdog, but he insisted he wanted this fight and he's taken it.
Massive balls. Well done.Last edited by M312; 08-09-2022, 07:10 PM.

This matchup doesn't move the needle for me. Because of the weight difference it just feels "gimmicky" and a money grab to me. Both guys are relatively relevant in their respective weight classes, I think I'd just prefer them to fight in their natural weight classes.
If Benn wins, Eubanks will say he was weight-drained. If Eubanks wins, Benn will say he went too high up in weight. It really doesn't prove anything regardless of the result (IMO).
