    I have been questioned on this before.

    It is just my personal classification. That is how I have always classified the divisions.

    140-154 are the entire Welter Weight divisions.

    154 pound divisions is sometimes referred to as the Super Welter Weight divisions 'Many times I have seen people within boxing refer to 154 pounds as Super Welter Weight'.

    Junior middle Weight or Light Middle Weight <<< These are new kind of sayings, that I personally think have not really solidified.

    140 = Light Welter Weight. 147 = Welter Weight. 154 = Super Welter Weight.

    I have just this moment read a article, were the 154 divisions is being refereed to as 'The Super Welter Weight divisions'.

      I mean, it doesn't really matter what your "personal classification" is.

      The Welterweight limit is 147, meaning anything above that weight cannot be a Welterweight bout by definition.

          Those are the Welter Weight divisions.

          It depends on the belt. For example. The wbc and wba calls them super. The ibf and wbo calls them junior

          wbc calls 140 super lightweight
          Ibf calls 140 junior welterweight

          Wbc calls 154 super welterweight
          Ibf calls 154 junior middleweight

          Either way, 147 is the only welterweight division since 147 is the welterweight limit.

          Let's stick to facts

            I am sticking to the facts.

            The 154 pound division has and does get refereed to as 'The Super Welter Weight division'.

            140, 147, 154 those weight classes span the entire Welter Weight Divisions.

            Those are the facts. I read an article only just recently, talking about one of the Charlo brothers being Champion within the 'Super Welter Weight divisions'.

              It’s also referred to as the Junior Middleweight Divison. It’s irrelevant, it’s semantics.

              The Welterweight limit is 147. It has always been 147.

              Anything above 147 CANNOT be considered a Welterweight bout.

              It’s that simple.

                Except you’re not sticking to facts at all.

                If you’re going to consider fights above 147 and below 160 as Welterweights bouts all of a sudden then you’re going to have to reevaluate a number of Middleweight bouts across history.

                You know what a weight class limit is, right? It means anything north of that limit is no longer that said weight class it’s the one above.

                I.e, 148-159.

                If we are going to be by the old way boxing did things then that’s fine but that would mean bouts at 154 lbs are Middleweight bouts, not Welterweight.

                  It is not really that simple, if it was? Then plenty of boxing writers, boxing historians and even some fans like myself 'Would not be refereeing to the 154 Divisions as the Super Welter Weight divisions'.

                  140 = Light Welter Weight. 147 = Welter Weight. 154 = Super Welter Weight.

                  Anything above 147, is classed as Super Welter Weight.

                  I know the 154 pound division is sometimes refereed to as Junior Middle Weight.

                  But? That term has not really solidified. Historically the Junior Middle Weight divisions has never been a thing.

                  There was the Welter Weight Divisions, then Middle Weight Divisions. That is it.

                  I am not really going to move on this point.

                  The Middle Weight Divisions span, 160 - 168 pounds.

                  160 = Middle Weight. 168 = Super Middle Weight.

                  The 154 pound divisions is a fairly new division, some people call it the Junior Middle Weight divisions, some people call it the Super Welter Weight divisions etc.

                    Amazing how his injuries disappeared when he has no value but needs a big minimum damage high profile fight for a retirement check.

                      It is literally that simple.

                      You're arguing over semantics, of which are irrelevant.

                      Are you aware what the term "limit" means? If not, here you go;

                      1. a point or level beyond which something does not or may not extend or pass.
                      "the failure showed the limits of British power"

                      2. a restriction on the size or amount of something permissible or possible.
                      "an age limit"

                      The Welterweight division has, and has always had, a limit of 147 lbs. If 147 lbs is exceeded it is no longer a Welterweight bout.

                      This isn't something that's debatable or up for discussion. It is black and white.
