You don't get the P4P title by forcing a smaller fighter to come up 2 divisions. If you want to fight the P4P#2 at his best, you go down to his weight, not force him to come up to yours.
Pac got the p4p title because mayweather retired. He solidified it by knocking out dlh and hatton, but those are two guys mayweather had wins over, if mayweather wouldnt have retired, its not likely hed be moved from that spot unless he beat cotto.

Regardless, JMM called out mayweather, he knew what he was getting into and floyd used this fight to gauge where he is in the sport and how his body holds up at this point and i think he got his point across, mostly to himself.

You are sitting here saying "if you want to fight the p4p 2 at his best" when usually, the challanger moves up to fight the guy in question, not the other way around. Its exactly why when de la hoya called out pac, he conceeded to his demands, because was the one begging for pac to fight him.

      2. ???????

I am very interested if you believe that Morales was prime.

Question: DLH @ 154 is garbage comp for Floyd, but a 2 yr older DLH @ 147 is great comp for Pac? that's an, um, interesting perspective.

Keep spitting out the truth man. Tons of delusional fans on here that need to be corrected.

To set things straight, the things that Pacman ask for was a bigger slice of the pie, and not the chump change (30%) Oscar's offering, and Manny using the 8 oz Cleto Reyes gloves, other than that, it was all Oscar's, including the "meet weight" were they're suppose to fight.

I agree with you on the part thats bold and it's exactly the reason why we shouldn't use this fight to measure Mayweather's position on the P4P scale. JMM knew what he was getting into (a mismatch) despite not knowing that Mayweather was going to weigh in at 146. He is not the best in Mayweather's division and has no advantages over Mayweather. So how does Mayweather get credit as P4P #1 by beating a smaller man with no advantages, not even fighting him at his best weight?

We should use Floyd's next fight over the current P4P #1 or one of the top fighters in his(Welterweight) division.

Morales fought and beat Pac in March 2005, lost to Raheem in Sept. 2005 and fought Pac for the second time in January 2006. Are you trying to say that in the span of 10 months Morales was not still in his "prime" or close to it?

DLH was not garbage comp for Floyd, Floyd was a bit bigger than Pacquiao though. The reason why Pac's victory was better on P4P rankings is like I've told many boxing fans before, in terms of P4P status, it's not always who you beat but how you beat them.

way back 2006 some experts & boxing annalist were already giving P4P No. 1 nod to Pacquiao ...

He should be in the P4P again, but not number 1.

Alright since you are ****ting Pac's resume then tell me what was Floyd's best win.. The only I could think of is Castillo.. Because you cannot include a dehydrated, mentally unfocused Corralles as his big win...

Marquez, Morales, Barrera are great wins that ****'s on all of Money's resume combined...

No they werent. That didint happen until late 2007 before mayweather fought hatton, once he knocked out hatton, that debate ended. If pac was anywhere near topping mayweather in 2006 in any p4p poll it was a fringe one.
