Hearn didn't bid anything. The bid was between Sky and DAZN, not Sky and Matchroom.Comment

Hatman made a good point about this bid in a recent video. Sky winning the UK rights could end up benefiting DAZN in the long run. Sky spent a fortune on it, so they are going to publicise the hell out it to get their money back and they have a far larger UK reach than DAZN. If AJ wins he will then be defending his titles on DAZN. Same thing probably applies to Usyk. So DAZN could end up gaining UK subscribers as a result of Sky's publicity blitz.Last edited by kafkod; 07-11-2022, 06:21 AM.Comment

I think their key strength is that there are another 7.5 billion people in the world and they are trying to cover as many as they can.
DAZN could get huge without the US. They'll still be trying to compete there but there are other markets with less competition for rights.Comment

What will be interesting is how the undercard looks. For all the complaining people do about him, he always puts on the best undercard he can... What's the incentive this time? Just keeping the Saudis on side I guess, if that doesn't matter (or they don't care about the undercard), wouldn't be surprised to see a very poor undercard to spite Sky.
Crazy bid from Sky considering they can't control this important element.Last edited by M312; 07-11-2022, 06:45 AM.Comment

DAZN is challenging the cable networks. It won't happen overnight but everyone with at least half a brain cell can see that OTT eventually beats cable TV.
The global aspect is important. So is negating the need for a receiver box. It might not be DAZN that reaps all the rewards, but someone will and they'll be well placed.
In all likelihood they'll get acquired at some point.Comment
