BUT i do remember thinking at the time that it would actually be impossible to give nelo 6 rounds in that fight, actually impossible
You can easily give first 3 and last 3 to Nelo. Middle rounds were GGG's rounds.

Could have gone either way, im not upset with a Canelo win there. Ggg never really turned up the heat and was content to often do nothing other than jab

I personally had GGG winning both, I felt he won the first 1 clearly but the 2nd fight was a lot closer. Unfortunately I cant see GGG getting a win at this stage of his career (hopefully he doesnt get stopped but it wouldnt surprise me given how fragile he has started to look at times)

To the point G's own trainer acknowledged it, which got him fired.
God this take is so ****ing overblown. The majority of the fight was around the center of the ring and the times Canelo did "walk him down," Golovkin simply jabbed and circled away. Golovkin walked Canelo down more in that fight towards the last few rounds than Canelo ever did

Canelo has so much animosity and hate and desire to “end” the trilogy he waited 4 yrs to fight a now 40 yr old fading Ggg. And Canelo will have a huge weight advantage in the ring…Real ballsy and courageous Canelo.

You're being a little harsh on the Canelo fans there brother... quite a few of em are resonable people.. it's just a few obsessives that spoil it. Just like with other fanbases. Some people just lack self awareness I guess.

I see it the same, except that Derevyanchenko should've taken his 0, not Canelo.

True. The only fighter's back that touched the ropes was Canelo's.

It's weird isn't it? For some reason endless repetition seems to have coloured folks perception such that someone hearing about the fight would imagine Canelo was chasing Golovkin all over the ring rather than the measured backfoot performance that Golovkin actually gave, never going to the ropes but circling backwards to keep Canelo at mid range as Canelo advanced... from the various comments it seems that some folk think somehow the fact that Golovkin was unusually (for him) fighting on the back rather than front foot was indicative that Canelo was somehow in control or that GGGs failure to impose his usual front foot strategy should somehow be reflected in the scorecards... but scoring doesn't - or at least shouldn't - work like that.

Ironically GGG fought a far more convincing back foot fight in the second fight than Canelo did in the first and yet Canelo was rewarded with a Draw and GGG with a loss... sadly par for the course in a Canelo fight. For all that I've come to respect the Ginger One both as a fighter and for his willingness to fight tough opponents the unquestionable favouritism he receives on the scorecards will always be a big turn off for me.
