Broad consenus was that GGG won the first 7 - 5 or 8 -4 and that the second fight could have been wiithin a round or so either way. Majority of fan and media scorecards still went with Golovkin in 2 although the responses from boxing professionals were much more divided.

For the record I scored GGG both times. 8 - 4 and 7 - 5 although I could have seen a draw.in the second.

Canelo beat ggg soundly in the 2nd fight with no controversy. The right guy won. Controversy is the word used by people with agendas and emotional casuals.

The fact that there was widespread disagreement... in fact even the fact that we're still discussing it makes it by definition a 'controversy'. Just because you got strong beliefs on it one way or another in don't render opposing opinions non-existant. Even if you were somehow proved 'right' (an impossibilty in a field as subjective as boxing scoring) it would still remain a 'controversy' as long as a substational number of people disagreed.
