The point is that Arum should've NEVER made that deal! He signed Devin, but he did everything in the interest of Kambosos! Why? Why didn't he at least guarantee the rematch to take place in the home of the winner? He should've made a deal that was good for both fighters!

Why are we getting AJ v usyk again? When we know who the better fighter is and the fight wasn’t even close. Do I want the rematch? NO. Am I overjoyed that Eddie is giving us a load of rubbish in terms of fights ?NO.

You gotta be a complete total moron pushing this narrative about Loma ducking Haney. I may believe you if Haney had names in his resume such as Commey, Nakatani, Pedraza, Beltran... These guys were available when he was looking for fights. Yet he picked semi-retired ones like Gamboa and Linares. And you're saying this is the guy who Loma ducked? A guy who fought nobodies?Comment

Loma went franchise because he wanted to unify with the IBF and achieve full undisputed. He's been very clear for years that that was his goal. He didn't want to waste time with a mandatory, and the WBC offered him franchise so he could pursue full unification. The franchise belt is a joke, since the WBC doesn't follow its own rules, but if he'd won, nobody would have been able to make a credible claim that he wasn't undisputed.
The WBC, unlike the IBF, doesn't grant precedence to unification fights (see sections 3.5-6 of the WBC rules). They prefer to keep things at "full discretion of the WBC". And it would be delusional to suppose that the alphabet organizations care about unification. They much prefer to have as many "champions" paying them sanctioning fees as possible. That's the whole point of the franchise designation in the first place, and the WBA regular and world designations.
It's backwards ******ity to talk about a champion "ducking" their mandatory to pursue unification and undisputed. We should WANT them to do that, and if they alphabet organization forces them to do that so they can have more "champions" paying them fees, that's the fault of the organization, not the fighter. Haney did what he was supposed to do, and he's now got the leverage to control the division. Good for him. But anyone talking about Loma ducking him is only doing so in the benefit of hindsight. You don't complain about any other champion "ducking" a mandatory to fight another champion, only in this circumstance, and it's still a ****** suggestion.Comment
