Agreed, and I think Arum's end game is to get Loma a shot at all those belts. If he has to eat some money to keep those belts together for Loma's shot I think he does it. Maybe Kambo gets paid to step aside in some fashion, but my guess is you see a scaled down event in Kambosos' hometown that possibly ends up on ESPN+. When Haney beats the Austalian again, Bob can hype up the Haney/Loma fight for a Vegas showdown.

I see your point. What I was trying to say is Top Rank may not have a choice soon with the belts. Things have to move on. I can't wait to see them fragmented.

I don't disagree with that.
As for the belts, unified and all that stuff doesn't really matter so much for me. From what I gather, you and I are the same. We just like to see good fights and interesting matchups.Comment

Yes, very much agreed. As long as Davis fights the best comp he can find, I wouldn't encourage him to waste his hard earned money on sanctioning fees.Comment

Absolutely. People familiar with Ortiz and Loma's situation anticipated that this would be a difficult fight. Ortiz has a special skill set, and he has size. He's been struggling to make the 135 pound division. He came in overweight for the Adorno fight. So he's very big, just like Haney. However, Ortiz does things that Haney doesn't do, which is throwing a high volume of punches. Ortiz throws more punches than anyone i've seen at lightweight. It was that punch volume that created difficulties for Loma to get started. Then you add the fact that he had a short camp and was on a long layoff, and you have a recipe for a difficult fight. It went pretty much as I expected, to be honest. The people this surprised were those unfamiliar with Ortiz. Also, Ortiz had fought twice already this year. You have a guy that hadn't fought at all against a guy that had already had two fights. That was the other factor that I had considered and another reason why I thought the fight would be difficult for Loma.
The reason why I'm saying this is due to the fact that Haney doesn't have those qualities that caused Loma difficulty getting his rhythm. Haney is more of a finesse fighter than a high volume fighter. Because of that, I have Loma all the way because now we have a motivated Loma who will have a full training camp and no ring rust.Comment
