Too bad about Cespedes; injuries shortened his career. The man was exciting as they come. Moncada is a slight disappointment so far. He’s good, but he has the potential to be great. Damn shame Abreu and Yuli Gurriel got here so late. Potential Hall of Famers, both of them — Cespedes, too. Robert is looking like a monster. Thanks for the heads-up on Colas and Vaquero. I believe that’s the first I’ve heard of them.

Nova isn’t bad. He’s big for 126 and possesses good power. 21-0 going in, with 15 KOs, is pretty respectable. While I agree Abraham isn’t particularly special, the way Ramirez handled a much bigger man, who also happens to be a solid fighter, made me feel good about his potential. I don’t see Robeisy being a star, but he’s good enough to grab a belt sometime. Although he’s 28, Ramirez has only been a pro three years. There’s room for growth.

Theirs no doubt in my mind hes good but I feel he’s far better than he performed. Great fighters can beat bigger framed men. I just didn’t like the fact he was fighting the only way his opponent had a chance to win. Its not smart to give your opponent ANY chance to win. That’s all I’m saying.

I don’t disagree. It looked to me like it was personal, so Robeisy fought almost as it were a street fight. He kept egging Nova on, and charged in swinging almost wildly at times. When the knockout came, Ramirez walked away looking back at Nova, as if to say, “How you like me now?” Then the celebration that followed seemed very emotionally charged. Maybe it all says something about Robeisy. He may be prone to someone getting in his head.

I was impressed by how Ramirez has grown. The other guy was a solid prospect, just not in Robeisy's league. But we didn't know that before the fight, some fans were giving not much of a chance, do to the size, strength and almost double the experience of nova. Sometimes you have to give props to the other guy, you know, the one that makes him look that way. Lara make canelo like a novice, we all know ginger is a heck of a fighter.

Well, if the results are what we saw if you get in to his head, I don't see to many trying that trick again. And no, he was following Salas directions, although a times seemed very personal. He was in control.

Check them out. Colas should be with the Big team soon, Vaquero is considered #1 or 2 best international prospect at 19 years old. Yuli and Abreu got here a little too late, especially Yuli, oldest gold glove and batting champ at the same time. And Pitó has been a model of consistency. Some kids are coming in, you will be excited with them. A bunch of under 19 years old boxers defected in Dubai, they already debuted a couple of months ago

Vaquero is 17. He’s ranked #2 internationally by MLB. Abreu has been like clockwork. Almost a sure-fire HOFer if he got here sooner. Don’t know anything about young Cuban boxers defecting in Dubai. Interesting place to pitch tent. The UAE has been showing interest in boxing the past few years. Maybe those kids can find support there.

Size in the same weight class means very little without elite talent.
