Incredible how fast someone can strike it rich in the Land of the Free. And it’s a lot slower and harder for a boxer. I’ve seen several Cuban baseball players that have signed lucrative contracts before they even play a single major league game. Yordan Alvarez defected from Cuba in 2016 and signed a deal with the LA Dodgers for $2 million. Just this month, Yordan signed a six-year contract extension with the Houston Astros worth $115 million. God bless America!

I was similar. I gave up on him after the Loma fight. A waste of talent as the OP said. He was so mismanaged too.

Meh, I’m more of a Robeisy Ramirez fan. This Andy Cruz cat doesn’t tik all the boxes for me.

Andy Cruz is a more talented and skillful fighter than Robeisy.

I agree. But Robeisy is more aggressive and appears to hit harder. These are qualities that make a fighter more marketable. Ramirez’s style lent itself to the pros. I knew it watching him as an amateur. I don’t get nearly that feeling with Cruz.

I expected far more from him in his last fight. He fought with no intelligence. He can’t beat Shakur with that style. I was hoping he was better.

He needed a dancing partner. The schooling he gave prime nonito was priceless. All 122lbs ran from him, can you imagine if framptom, mares, st+ and quigg has stepped to the plate?

One punch ko in 4 or 5 rounds, against a good solid fighters, top five in his division, and you expected more from him?

Yordan is a especial talent, just like Abreu, Roberts, Céspedes, Moncada and that kid that the Nationals spent all their international money, Christian Vaquero. White Sox signed Colas, another good prospect. Actually 5 Cubans were signed in the first ten slots.

You seriously were impressed with the guy he fought? Fought like an amateur.
