Confident? How is it confident cherry-picking a shot fighter/quitter who got knocked out in 2017, 2018, almost out in 2019 by a guy that doesn't even spar no less (LMAO), then force him into your fight 70 days later? Andrade got Canelo 40M to fight, but Clenny McButerol took 35M instead for the cherry lmao!

It's the haters' paradox. Pick a HOF level fighter that's also a cash cow. Canelo, Mayweather and Pacquiao fit the bill. The extent haters have to go to discredit these amazing fighters actually testifies of how good these fighting men are. But they're too blinded by their own hatred to realize and prioritize smearing their names and resume over making any sort of sense.

At one point, i defended canelo as i didn't see Bivol as a cherrypick, but there is evidence now on video that suggests he and hearn thought it was a cherrypick, so for him it was.

Imagine if more fighters cherrypicked like Canelo? That’s pretty ambitious.

No one else from 154 to 175 would be accused of cherrypicking Dmitry Bivol. Even if they admit that they thought they could beat him over Beterbiev. No one in their right mind would accuse any other fighter from 154 to 175 of cherrypicking Bivol.

Canelo has very high standards of cherrypicking.

Usyk thought he could beat AJ, he was adamant about fighting him as soon as he came up to HW and got a couple of fights. Usyk cherrypicked AJ.

I have heard of fighters “cherrypicking” fighters below them, like Mayweather-JMM, DLH-Pacquiao. But wow, to cherrypick a top 2 undefeated fighter who campaigns at the weight class above yours, Canelo is has to be an amazing fighter.

I mean Beterbiev can come out and say, right now, that he is fighting Smith Jr because he thinks he can beat him. And nobody would care that a top 3 fighter thinks he can cherrypick a top 3 fighter of his weight class. Everyone is happy and excited about the fight next Saturday (I know I am).

Nobody cared that Usyk was saying he can beat AJ, it wasn’t a cherrypick.

But wow man, Canelo thought he could beat Bivol, he picked Bivol because he thought he could beat him. Shame on that confident cherrypicker, picking on top 2 Light Heavyweights like Kovalev and Bivol. And the audacity for Canelo to tell Hearn that he’s interested in Artur Beterbiev. Another cherrypick.

Boxers should grow some balls and fight fighters they think they can’t beat. Canelo should call out Tyson Fury after GGG III and Bivol II, win or lose. For god’s sake, fight someone you know you can’t beat Canelo. You boxing disgrace.
          great post...........

Benavidez was green. That would be a good fight now, maybe in 2023. When Canelo critics were asking for it, Benavidez had no good wins. And even 1 loss to an unknown, Gavril. Now Benavidez has at least two okay wins over a couple of names. But Lemiuex is a bloated MW. I guess the fight could happen now, although I am not crazy about it. Benavidez still has some room for growth, become prime. But if critics want it that badly, for whatever reason, not sure what Benavidez and Charlo would do for Canelo. It’s definitely a weird ask by Canelo critics. Not quite as weird as Mayweather critics asking for Mayweather to fight Baldomir and Vivian Harris. But it’s up there.

Charlo is a MW. Stop it. You will not give credit to Canelo for beating a MW. You already give him zero credit for Jacobs and Saunders. You’re not giving him credit for Charlo, no way in hell. I do not believe that for one second. Charlo, of all fighters, would supposedly get Canelo credit from you? You’re not fooling me with that BS.

GGG - Critics were all getting on Canelo about fighting an “old” GGG in the rematch. I had no clue, until now, that his fans had resurrected GGG for a third time. GGG has looked like crap since the rematch. It’s a pointless trilogy and I wish Canelo signed to fight Beterbiev rather than GGG.

Beterbiev and Bivol are equally good, so far, they have similar resumes. Beterbiev is older and more powerful, Bivol is younger and more of a boxer (but both are excellent boxers). Both are interchangeably top 1-2 at 175. Both have extensive amateur careers. Bivol 283 fights, 15 losses, Beterbiev 295-5. If you knew an ounce about boxing, you would be aware that Canelo was probably biting off more than he could chew with either of these two. Many fans sh/tted on Bivol, but at least some of them called the Bivol win accurately.

Ramirez - Assuming it’s Zurdo. Wow. I mean this guy is 30, has been fighting since 2009. He is legitimately Mexican, speaks Spanish like some Mexican fans obsess it’s a skill that a fighter claiming to be Mexican should posses in order for them to like them. He has it all. And hasn’t really broken out yet. He has some good wins, from years and years ago.

Overall, aside from Beterbiev, just an odd list of opponents for a Canelo critic to ask for. It just looks like a list of fights from a Canelo critic who knows very well that neither of those fights were worth anything at the time. Different story if Charlo comes up to 168, establishes himself with a good couple of wins, and then calls out Canelo. Benavidez I think will be ready in 2023. Idk what’s with the obsession with Canelo fighting a green Benavidez who was clearly still learning.
Benavidez is ranked #1 by TBRB. There's 0 reason to wait.

Jermall can trouble Canelo with length and power. He's by far the weakest of fighters I named, yet he's still far better than some others that Canelo has fought.

We don't know know if Beterbiev and Bivol are equally good. But let's say they are, my point was that Canelo's management has made sure he doesn't fight power punchers.

Zurdo is 30. Canelo is 31. They're both Mexican, Zurdo has looked excellent at LHW and is undefeated. He would be a real challenge.

GGG - critics were getting on Canelo for getting a gift draw, popping dirty, then winning a rematch by 1 round in a hotly debated fight, after which Canelo went on to claim that he "has nothing left to prove". At the time of that statement, a ton of people said he's waiting for G to age before taking a dangerous 3rd fight. Here we are, with Golovkin over 40. That was shameful.

I give Canelo lots of credit for Callum, Saunders, and Bivol. But none of those 3 are power punchers. That's the recipe - get the judges in your favor and fight low risk fighters. That's the "cherrypick". It's not the quality of the fighter, it's the style.

Canelo Cherrypicked Bivol...period. He thought Bivol was going to be as easy as all his previous fights where he was an overwhelming odds favorite.

Does it make sense to you that you are "supposedly" taking on competitive and high risk fights while you are the overwhelming favorite in all those fights?

Greatness is winning a considerable number of fights as underdog and 50/50 fights.

Again keep your eye on the ball. Let us not forget that its was the canelo fanboys all 2021 beating their chests hard, calling their guy an all time great, the best Mexican ever, closing in on TBE, would dominate Floyd in a rematch.

They had the audacity to LIE all of 2021 and say that canelo was fighting at 168 because Smith, Plant, BJS (yes the guy who almost lost to Willie Monroe) were by far the biggest challenges, much bigger challenges than Bivol, Beterbiev, Andrade, Charlo, who we all wanted him to fight, but who the canelo fans called bums compared to Saunders. You also said that no fighter in boxing was taking bigger challenges. You had the audacity to sa that Canelo fighting BJS was a much much much MUCH bigger challenge than Bud fighter Porter. Just de****able lies.

They said Bivol needs to keep canelo name out his mouth and stop ducking ZURDO, who would box the **** out of him, break down his body, and stop him late.

You claimed Bivol was a bum now live with the consequences.

All time great fighters do not get dominated like that. Point blank period. You were wrong about your assessment of this guy.
