It feels like they really stagnate divisions. Thoughts?
Would you like to see a reform act in boxing that prevents rematch clauses?

100%
Rematch clauses have always been a thing or at least for a while but this recent phenomenon of having a rematch clause for every fight is ridiculous.Comment

I think there should definitely be none for mandatories like Wlad used to do and now Eddie Hearn does for his fighters. But if they reach a deal before purse bids, I suppose there’s not a lot anybody can do because it’s part of the agreement both sides reached
but I think governing bodies could still step in and say anyone who is in the mandatory spot isn’t allowed to have a rematch clause put on them
If it’s a voluntary then I don’t mind too much.Comment

Yes, rematch clauses should be outlawed in boxing. I would hate to see another situation like the ridiculous, never ending Fury/Wilder saga. If that farce hadn't happened we would have an undisputed world HW champion now, which would have been great for the whole sport.Comment

They’re coerced into it though, if you actually understood how the business worked you’d understand. You essentially can’t get a voluntary shot anymore without signing a rematch clause. The B side essentially has to win twice whilst the A side essentially only has to win 1 out of 2 fights.
People were willingly signing deals with Don King when he was robbing them blind prior to the Ali act in the late 90’s.Comment

Same with AJ-Ruiz and AJ-Usyk. Everyone is guilty of doing it.Comment
