He is a big LW. He definitely looks strong AF for that weight class..

I am conflicted on how to react to the Davis-Romero fight and how it played out.

In a weird way Romero exceeded expectations but mainly due to Tank no meeting certain expectations I held him to.

Truthfully Romero boxed like garbage (with all due respect) in his attempt to "box and pressure" Davis. Hands low, telegraphed shots, no head movement, and really just fighting long which was smart of him. And the weird thing is that he was actually catching Tank with shots.

Davis has power (already known) and is quick (already known). But what I am starting to notice more and more is that he is fairly basic in his offense. Either you run into a counter or he just tries to march you down either with speed or literally just march like he has done opponents closer to his size.

I see Davis having difficulty with some of the more refined boxers and punchers at 135. I am not convinced that Davis has a key so to speak to get to some of the more defensively sound fighters that have respectable power. Had Romero not been foolish and kept running in face first it likely would have been a competitive "boxing" match the whole fight.

He needed a gift from the judges to beat Marinez for crying out loud. He would lose every single round to Lomachenko, Kambosos, or Haney.

Rolly was getting tired into the six, the pressure he was applying had no effect and he was getting caught more and more as the rounds went by and the sharpness fell.

Tank was just being patient in there. It was never a competitive fight. Fight last 12 rounds and not 3.

Rolly got outboxed, badly, and KOd in the middle of his act. He won what Tank let him win. In Rollys training video, he pulls his head straight backward, but worse, he brings it straight forward. He got caught doing that. His strength is real, his chin is suspect.

Rolly has a lot to learn. If while doing so he can keep his punch he may carry up as a puncher. Problem for him is to stop talking himself into corners and execute. When he was succesful he should have been up Tanks a s s... smothering him when he wasn't punching him.

Yea yea yea …whatever b-level pbc fighter Davis beats is now so tough and suddenly a monster in the division - Barrios, Cruz, and now Romero. Imagine Romero v Loma…Rolly coming foward with wide punches and no defence is tailor made for Loma. Its now Romero’s turn to beat up on Gamboa or Vargas. Ridiculous comical bs from Ellerbe as usual. With all the power and experience, one would think they Ellerbe/Floyd would not be so fearful to put Davis in with some A-level opposition for once.

Cliff Rolds “weekend afterthoughts” on the Davis fight hits the nail on the head - went as expected with the novice Romero leaving his chin “out in space”.

Who are the A level guys you speak of? I need to laugh badly.

Let me start for you: Even Loma isn't A level fighter. Let's go from there. The BEST boxers right now are B+. Then we have B, B-, C, and so on. People like Rolly, that Greek pretender, Ryah are all B- or C+ for now. Some boxers have a potential. The words "greatness" and "A level" fighter have lost all their meanings in this era.
