Who exactly has Canelo beaten since GGG that rises to the level of acceptable? Everyone he beat was either washed up or unproven. When he fought someone with skill, Bivol, he got embarassed just like with Floyd.

So what does he do now? Go chase after a guy who is 40 years old, rather than rematch Bivol. Hearn is now talking about pushing any possible rematch all the way to May of next year!

So who is he going to fight after GGG? It won't be Andrade, Charlo or Benavidez. When you start calling people "bums", make sure you add Canelo's name to that list.

I don't see how any fighter ranked on any P4P list can remain on said list immediately after a loss. You're not on any P4P list for having lost, but for having won. Canelo should be removed, at this point, from any P4P list until he wins again. Once he wins then, at that time, his win, along with his previous wins, is evaluated against the top 10 to determine where he is placed. I mean, what if Canelo is never the same after this defeat. I know...I know...it's easy to assume he will bounce back, but that's all assumption. It's like wanting to have have Joshua keep his belts after having been defeated by Usyk...because he was a good champion! We know that's not how that works, so why should a standing on a P4P be any different. Canelo attempted to do exactly what a P4P list defines, he tried to beat someone from a different division regardless of weight, relying on skill. This time, against Bivol, his exhibited skill level was not enough. P4P, Bivol was the better man. So I maintain Canelo should not be on any list at this time. After his fight with GGG....IF he wins, then there's an argument to place him on the list again.

That's why a lot of American boxers dare not take a challenge nowadays, for you guys the zero is everything. Crawford is the new nr 1 but the question is who has fought since he moved up to 147 that wasn't a washed up or B level at best? There's a good reason why he's not a draw upon all this p4p propaganda.

"He had to handicap himself to get beat". Hearn makes the excuse of ALL excuses.

The only reason Alvarez took that fight was because he thought, as did Hearn, who said so in an unguarded moment, that Bivol was slipping; that his two previous fights were very lack lustre and he looked very ordinary.

NO TOP CLASS BOXER TAKES A FIGHT HE MIGHT LOSE. They used to, but those days are Looong gone. Now it's just money and status.

Every time a promoter of a beaten fighter opens his mouth you can expect only lies and excuses. But for "favourable" refereeing and judging, Alvarez would have been a 4-5 loss fighter BEFORE he fought Bivol who thoroughly outclassed him in every aspect .

The close judges' cards show that they were bought and paid for, but were discreet enough to want to get out of the arena alive. They did their best for him.

This fight alone, (and of course the 2 "gift" Golovkin fights), show that Boxing is definitely NO LONGER a sport, but a money making racket.

Who cares anyway? It’s a fictional list

It’s essentially a list that decides if some welterweight
manlet’s or Flyweights built like an 11 year old girl could beat Tyson Fury if they weren’t unfortunate to be tiny.

Who even cares? There’s no way of knowing anyway, it’s all pie in the sky stuff.

It comes with the territory, that’s just boxing.

Media and fans praise fighters who keep winning, regardless of opposition, doesn’t matter if it’s sh/t opposition, or average opposition. Media and fans put down fighters who take on tough challenges but either don’t look amazing against them or lose.

In boxing it’s better to be like Terence Crawford than Canelo Alvarez. You get way more media and fan praise if you fight mediocre fighters and KO them, with just 2-3 good one’s, than you would if you have close fights with the greatest fighters of your era.

If you cover the name, Canelo Alvarez, and look at the mystery boxer resume. Forget it’s his resume. Take into account all of the issues and success that took place with each of the top 10 fighters in his resume. But it’s just not his resume. We don’t know who’s it is.

Any sensible boxing fan would look at that resume and admit and praise that the fighter who fought all of those guys clearly likes to fight the best and likes to challenge himself. And even if this said fighter has been in some close fights against the best, a sensible fan wouldn’t give a fck. They would just be happy that there is a professional boxer who actually fights the best and is competitive vs any of the best fighters he has fought. That fighter would get a ton of praise.

But we live in an alternate reality where a resume like this guy’s gets praise instead:

Im amused by the posters with very short memory or just plain mental deficit its been public and well known the GGG fight was pre scheduled way before the bivol fight ,the russian is not being ducked DAZN just wants to get gennady fight($$$) out of the way before ginger taking on the rematch ,if I would've preferred a direct rematch?ABSOLUTELY unfortunately there is a contract to be honored and last thing canelo wants to have is a lawsuit,as long as both ginger and bivol win their next fight and both still on the Dazn,fight still on the table
