Once he wins then, at that time, his win, along with his previous wins, is evaluated against the top 10 to determine where he is placed. I mean, what if Canelo is never the same after this defeat. I know...I know...it's easy to assume he will bounce back, but that's all assumption. It's like wanting to have have Joshua keep his belts after having been defeated by Usyk...because he was a good champion! We know that's not how that works, so why should a standing on a P4P be any different. Canelo attempted to do exactly what a P4P list defines, he tried to beat someone from a different division regardless of weight, relying on skill. This time, against Bivol, his exhibited skill level was not enough. P4P, Bivol was the better man. So I maintain Canelo should not be on any list at this time. After his fight with GGG....IF he wins, then there's an argument to place him on the list again.
P4P Bivol was not the better man. Bivol was the better LHW on the night. Of the top 100 ATGs I think probably only a couple retired undefeated. Roberto Duran was troubled at 147 and had losses but had he been on a P4P list when he lost to SRL that would have been an error.

Removing somebody from the P4P list after a loss would see wild fluctuations of the list and lead to even more disagreements than there are currently about who should be on it. That would be problematic because without some sense of concurrence then 'the list' (there's actually no such thing) would cease to exist.

No worries Eduardo Hearnia. El cobarde alvared has chosen the usual slow, old, no threat and shot cherry pick to make himself look good again. that puts him back at the top

He should go up in rankings just by moving up

Had canelo been anyone else he would have only been demoted to #2 but since many in the sport including the biased media were itching for him to lose he got bumpeed way back.

With that said he needs that to open his eyes the media does Latino fighters no favors they are judged by different standards. A Latino fighter has to always do double what a black or Caucasian fighters has to do to earn respect that's a fact.

Eddie should relax and not get upset about some mythical pound for pound list which is just subjective.

Who cares? Pound-for-pound is not a real title.

I'm flabbergasted that Alvarez is defending his titles for the first tine against a 40-year old who has never won a super-middleweight fight in his career.

Canelo was outskilled in all areas by Bivol. When his power didn't work, he had nothing

Please, fighters much greater than canelo have been dropped further following losses. Name any #1 p4p fighters that were only dropped 1 slot after a convincing loss. You should be thankful that canelo was actually considered #1 despite having so many controversial wins on his record. Acting as if the most entitled fighter in the sport (and arguably ever) is somehow being mistreated because he’s Latino is a joke.

Of course Nelo should stay no1. Hes hardly fighting a bum in GGG next also. Tough fight after tough fight. All the fighters hes facing could potentially beat him. GGG, Kovalev, Callum, BJS, Bivol, they are all unbeaten and dont know how to lose.
GGG is a strong underdog, and not a weak underdog; any current fighter would love this version of GGG on their resume.
