The Boots Ennis hype is unreal

You can't necessarily judge a pro by someone who had his number in the amateurs. Boots also won silver and gold medals in the National Golden Gloves Championships. He's a talent but ultimately, his pro career will be judged by how he does in future fights against top opposition. Right now, he's making easy work of fighters who at least seemed somewhat solid before facing him.Comment

I hate to break it you but as good as Ennis' upside and potential is; I just don't see him defeating either Bud Crawford or Errol Spence, Jr, while they are yet still in their primes.
It's just not going to happen. You don't want to ruin this kid by cashing him out to soon. So please be patient with him. His time is coming. He is the future of the division.
That is the type of mentality that results in big fights constantly never happening in boxing. He has had 29 fights, how many more does he need to fight the top guys? Screw waiting, people want to see the best vs the best. Its clear Ennis is better than anyone either of them have fought so no reason to wait years until Spence and Crawford and past their prime and the fight almost becomes pointless. This is the problem with boxing. In MMA these fights would be booked in 6 months.Comment

I’d like to see them fight in about 12 months. Let Ennis have at least one or ideally two more learning fights and let Spence and Crawford finally get at it. Spence/Crawford vs Ennis are fights for 2023 at the earliest IMO.Comment

I understand the fans frustration with Crawford and Spence not happening sooner enough because they are both are contemporaries and peers of the same fighting era. They've both came along around the same time.
However, you cannot tell me that a fighter like Jaron Ennis that is at least seven years Spence's junior are equals in both championship experience and skills.
No, he is of a whole new batch and generation of younger and potential welterweight champions like: Eimantas Stanionis, Vergil Ortiz, Jr, Cody Crowley and Conor Benn.

It's not only the name recognition, he's still a good fighter. Still has something left in the tank and can box well. Like I see Benn calling him out and I'm telling you, Thurman will beat him and it won't be that difficult.Comment
