    Am I off base?

I scored the 4th and the 9th for Canelo. The rest I scored for Bivol. Given the official scorecards, am I off base?

Nah, you were off-base the judges were. They were trying to rob Bivol last night.

Same, I had it 9-3 Bivol. I fully expected the judges to bend over backwards to give any round to Canelo. Early in the broadcast Mannix or someone mentioned that Weisfeld and Cheatham are two of the best in the business. Ive seen bad scores from them many times and it's sad that judging is so bad they are considered elite in the industry.

The only difference between your card and all three official cards was the first 3 which were all for Canelo. Canelo was up after 9.

Those are the only rounds Canelo may have won. I didn't give him the 4th but remember thinking it was closer and judges probably gave it to him, and I do think he won round 9.

The right man won, but people can get too caught up on scores and punch stats. For example, a flick jab counts in the tally as 1 jab, same as a hammer, real scoring jab. A punch that is not a jab by Malignaggi classes as a power punch, same as from Wilder, but hardly the same punch is it? Forget the stats. Here is how Nash called it.

Round 1. Bivol landed more, but his jabs were tippy-tippy, and played exactly into what Canelo would have wanted him to do. Canelo won R1 with the better, scoring work.
R2. A bit better from Bivol. I have this round to Bivol, but honestly, it could have went either way.
R3. Very close. I went Canelo, slightly better work.
R4. Very close, again, I slightly preferred the work of Canelo.

Now the fight changes. Bivol grows in confidence and he throws much more shots with real power, not just "power shots". What made Bivol grow in confidence? Well, it's 4 rounds in, there is not a blade of grass in it (regardless of the views of clowns) and he can take Canelo's power. He knows this now. Thinking it is one thing. Knowing it, is another thing entirely.

                  Bivol won 5,6,7,8,10,11,12 no debate.

Canelo won 9, no debate. the much better work came from him.

                  116-112 Bivol. Nash out.

WE should all be thankful that they actually gave it to Bivol...
