Comments Thread For: Saul Alvarez - How High Can He Go?

By Cliff Rold - World Super Middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KO) has done a lot already in his career. He's already only the third former Jr. middleweight titlist to win a major sanctioning body belt at light heavyweight, joining the exceptional company of Thomas Hearns and Mike McCallum. This Saturday (DAZN, 8 PM EST), Alvarez will try to make it a club of two with Hearns as the only former Jr. middleweight titlists to win light heavyweight belts twice.

Unless he grows a grew inches he can't compete much higher. Might be a bit late for that.

See Canelo attempting to go undisputed at light heavyweight and then possibly trying out a weak champion at cruiserweight but anything beyond the weakest of champs at 200 may be nothing short of a miracle

Weight aside, Usyk would batter Canelo. If Usyk was a 168' er he'd still make light work of Canelo - he is an elite level southpaw and once he gets into a rhythm its hard to contain him, Canelo would probably only land 2 flush shots max in twelve rounds.

I don't even know if he can make it out a light heavyweight unification with his head intact. Let's see that first.

I think he will beat Bivol and Beterbiev and become undisputed at 175. He can beat some CWs like Makabu and Okolie. But, Usyk would be his limit. He would lose if he tries that.

Lmao! The hate from you daily filling these boards makes you a fan boi. So slow ass Chisora lands 110 power shots yet elite fighter Canelo lands 2 flush in 12 rounds.
