He is just as much of a challenge as Callum Smith, Avni Yildirim, Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Planet were. So my answer is no. Bivol isn’t a challenge to Alvarez. As a matter of fact, None of those opponents ever presented any serious threat to him or otherwise, he would have never fought them. Just like he didn’t fight Charlo, Andrade and David Benavidez.

How is Bivol less of a challenge than Charlo, Andrade, Benavidez when he's the #2 LHW, has the better resume, and is 1-2 weight classes larger than them?

A fight with Charlo or Benavidez might be more fireworks but Bivol has more amateur pedigree, and as a professional, his wins over Barrera, Joe Smith, and Pascal leads me to believe he’s the more experienced professional
