    It’s a different era.

fighters must promote themselves heavy on social media and most fighters that actually fight have no time for that.

Haymon is a business mastermind, he knows how to build a brand. The biggest issue is he also keeps everything in house preventing bigger fights that attract casual fans.

Charlos are highly marketable for example. Good looking talented fighters but they don’t fight often enough to stay relevant.

boxing is a niche sport in the States at this point. The biggest fighters in the world aren’t from the US, don’t dominate English meaning they can’t promote themselves to the fans stateside that enjoy the WWE market plan. Loud mouthed fighters that can trash talk.

Young African American boxers fare FAR better with Haymon than with DAZN and ESPN. Who are they supposed to sign with?

DAZN just gave away a blue chip American world champion To ESPN because they couldn’t figure out what to do with him.

...do people still not know what Haymon job is exactly? Haymon job is to get his fighters paid and for them to be setup for life after boxing and he is great at that

he helps with loopholes in contracts and getting around paying 20% to a promoter and having to split your purse among your team (trainer, cutman, camp expenses bringing in Sparring partners)

despite him not "Creating STARS" as you claim, a lot of his fighters get paid and LIVE like Superstars so I guess it is not all that bad

what would you take $400K 3x a year or the $1.2 Million in one night becomes the question... it is all about what the fighters want I mean sure anybody can be Super Active especially guys working their way up but Unless you're Canelo, nobody have the Budget to pay guys 3 Huge Paydays in a Calendar year and when that happens other fighters suffer and get left with no fight

They stop needing to sign for Al Haymon anonymous boxing champions
What makes you think that’s his goal??
His template is being copied by every promoter now. Why? Cause it makes their corporation money. That is the goal. Making CONSISTENT money every year. Cant make CONSISTENT money by putting the very best into the very best. That makes LESS MONEY.

Wilder, Spence and Tank have all done pretty good numbers. Depends what you mean by stars. You only usually get one or two bonafide superstars per era.

Impossible to create stars out of one-fight-a-year fighters. It's impossible. Fans just need to accept whatever random fights they are fed with. Haymon's greatest strength is showcasing his fighters in fights they're sure to win.

You have to want to be a star you can’t just create one. Look at everything Floyd did to become a star and it still took him 10 years to crossover. He aligned himself with 50 cent, who at the time was the hottest rapper in the music industry. He did a song with Ludacris, who was also hot at the time. He did a PPV with WWE. He was undefeated. But most importantly Floyd was the real deal and we all knew it. That’s what separates him from all these other fighters fighting today. Tank, Crawford, Spence, and all these other dudes have been fighting for years and we still don’t know if they are pretenders or not.
