    Al Haymon CANNOT create stars

    He can't, it's just fact.

He has all the top afro Americans who in eras past would be box office and nobody knows who these guys are.

They stop needing to sign for Al Haymon anonymous boxing champions

I just don’t think it’s that easy to make stars though. It’s not just PBC.

Eddie Hearn has only really made 1 real crossover star in AJ and I’d say you can give just as much or more credit to Sky. Plus Olympic gold medalist super heavyweight like that were always going to get a big head start, even Audley did.

Warren hasn’t made one for about 20 years.

Top Rank haven’t really made a major star since Manny, but even he held titles at lower weights before they were involved. You could say they helped Fury too but I think his self promotion and fights have been a bigger reason than any promoter he’s dad.

To be honest, I think times have changed and boxers really need to know how to sell themselves, using social media to do it etc. i think that’s what it takes now, a lot of the responsibility is with the fighter and most really don’t know how to.

I think the days are pretty much gone where a promoter can just turn a fighter into a megastar. There’s many more factors now.

I don't think it is the promoters fault.

Fighters these days, can seem generic in personal. And this is down to Social media which has also diluted superstardom.

No fighters want to confront each other in person, they all complain or argue via social media. Wow how exciting.

No stage presents or theater. Again boxers unlike other athletes in other sports, have to think about all of these things.

Like the way Wrestlers, not only think about there performance inside the ring but also outside the ring.

Most other great athletes in other sports also do this, but it is not mandatory.

Because lets be honest? All the top basketball players, football players, Tennis Players, in my opinion do not have the depth of character of most boxers.

There is just so many pressures in boxing that maybe, fighters would rather focus on.

The best boxers and most well received, are just themselves raw.

You are confusing creating a star with hyping a fighter.

Doesn’t help when most of his guys fight once a year against names people haven’t heard of and many of those are put on PPV.

well first of all, if you're fighting nothing but tomato cans it doesnt matter how much charisma you have. nobody is going to be interested.

it seems like its once in a blue moon you see a truly compelling meaningful PBC event.

This is the biggest thing and I've said this for years. Imagine if the nfl, nba, mlb etc each team every team played one game a year. Everyone would forget about them and not give a crap. To remain relevant you need to be in the public eye more often. Canelo does it right. Boxing is one of only sports i can think of where you can only compete one time out of 365 days and try to be relevant. Obviously boxing takes a lot of damage and can't compete as often as the other mentioned sports. But you can fight at minimum 2 times, and hopefully 3 and you will become more famous.
