That's Beterbiev's biggest problem, he's not that hard to hit

Beterbiev will be turning 38 on January 21st, and he’s getting up there in age. Canelo isn’t expected to fight Beterbiev in 2022 or 2023, meaning that by the time he potentially does in 2024, the two-time Russian Olympian will be 39-years-old.

Why isn’t Canelo fighting Beterbiev in 2022, or why didn’t he face him in 2019? The answer is obvious. Beterbiev is too good, and his power, body shots, nonstop attacking style, and steel chin make him a nightmare for Canelo.

As such, Beterbiev is in the same boat as Benavidez in being virtually ignored by the Mexican star, as if he doesn’t exist.

Betebiev is the equivalent of the third rail in a subway. He’s too dangerous right now, but that could change in two years when Beterbiev is 39 and not the fighter he is today.
Everything you said here is true.

Tell that to Gvozdyk ... That's the thing with Artur... He's gonna get you one way or another and when he gets you it's over... Gonna be the same for Canelo or Bivol... Canelo doesn't want the pain involving fighting Beterbiev... Oh and BTW Gvozdyk would have beaten Canelo as well ... Kovalev was having it too before he "abandoned" ..

Is there any defensive wizard at 175 or did I miss something? Beterbiev has clearly better defensive skills than Smith Jr.

Bivol is their best, who is vulnerable against ring cutters. His skills works only in long range.

Jab jab jab? So? Canelo will cut the ring and start to beat the crap out of Bivol.

Beterbiev is dog. Need a brawler dog to beat Canelo.
It would be an interesting matchup that comes down to whether or not Canelo can make Beterbiev respect his power.

Canelo has been lighting up bigger guys but Beterbiev is relentless so hopefully we see it in 2023.

As for who’s more difficult, I think Bivol will be tougher to beat on points while Beterbiev would be the more physically taxing fight. If forced to choose, I would say Beterbiev would be the tougher matchup but Bivol is no slouch

Bivol is very good at controlling distance and distance is not Canelo’s friend. Beterbiev would be no walk in the park, he could finish the fight with a single well placed punch but I think he’s there to be countered and that’s Canelo’s bread and butter.

I expect Bivol to be well up on the cards late and I don’t think he’ll fade his stamina is first rate.

Did you see him againsr Kovi , who imo was already washed up , Canelo was as tentative and scared to get hit as far as the 9 rounds he carried Kovi
Pretty damn sure Beterbiev hits way harder than Kovi , don’t think so , ok then accumulative cause he ain’t throwing one punch at a time
                      Survive against Canelo ?
We are not talking Smith , Plant or Kovi here

There’s a reason why he won’t fight him , he knows what the end result will be
So as usual , the cash cow will wait and wait some more until the fight means nothing unless your a nuthugger

After all those years , 7 to be exact , did Floyd vs Pac really get you excited ?

                      Rinse repeat same chit here
I can’t argue with your sentiment. Just to get it out of the way I was a mayweather fan since I saw him turn pro. I told everyone I could about Manny before he fought Mab. Back then all he did was jab jab left, but he did it so fast and well. I picked Floyd to beat Manny at any point. The fight should have been done years sooner to matter more for sure. The problem is after all those years and people saying it would never happen, it did bigger numbers than expected. That set a bad precedent for boxing.
Canelo does start slow. That doesn’t guarantee his opponent be it Bivol or Beterbiev will start faster though.
I always thought Kovalev was overrated. Nothing ever stood out about him to me. I had him beating Ward in the first fight though. Nobody says I want to be just like Kovalev. He fought scared vs Canelo who took his time but he did take him out in a blink.
I’m cdn and a fan of Beterbiev. But he doesn’t have a wealth of experience though. A few years ago I’m on record saying Canelo wanted no part of him. Beterbiev is rugged and not afraid to push the boundaries on the break and make it ugly. There’s a reason Canelo dropped the 175lb belt instead of fighting Artur. It was too risky and Artur wasent a huge name to make the money. That’s part of boxing though. People get picked off past their prime.
Artur hasent Improved though. He gets hit. He’s a bit like an older ggg, just pushes forward, block more punches with your face. I’m not saying Artur can’t win, he’s tough and hits hard. He’s no Julian Jackson though. He can win a war of attrition vs Canelo even if he doesn’t land as often. Can he get to Canelo enough though? Plus who really hits “way harder” than other top guys?
Did you have Tyson to beat Holyfield? The day after Tyson beat Spinks my old man told me a guy named Evander Holyfield will beat Mike Tyson.
Plus Canelo will get the benefit of the doubt if it’s close.
I like Artur. I like the consistent body shot at the end of combos. That type of stuff wins fights. I just see his odds slipping the older he gets.
Canelo is due to have a bad night eventually though. Im no fan of him personally, he’s a pill. I respect his skill in the ring and the improvements he’s made especially on defence.
He will wait till Artur is well old, but that’s always the way. It’s not like Artur has found a way to make mainstream public shout for the fight either. Has ever called him out? Made a stink?
If it ever happens I’ll be cheering for my cdn Artur big time. Still at this point Canelo is the Pope, and he doesn’t HAVE to do anything.
