some fights just cant be made. Should Crawford have to accept an 80-20 split Spences way, in order to get the fight made? Guess what, Haymon couldnt get Spence-Crawford made either. Neither guy is willing to take the shorter stack. So the fight cant get made, at least not at this point. What do you think Bob should have done to get the fight made? Point a gun to Spences head? And the same goes for the rest of the PBC guys that refused to even consider a Crawford bout....

Arum made him the promise that he’d be able to deliver the fight in order to convince Crawford to resign and he failed. So yes, it’s arum fault for not being able to do what he said he could and for also failing by his own admission to make the fight with pac because he wanted to protect pac.

This is the part that bothers me. Promoters expect the fighters to fight for them and make them money but expect the fighter to do his own promotion. The fighters job is to prepare and come in the ring 100 percent ready to fight. The promoters job is to sell the fight and get as much money as possible for all parties involved. Arum has been in the business long enough to know that.

I think Bob and Top Rank did a rather poor job promoting Crawford. I would have embraced his surly, reserved demeanor and framed him more like a "John Wick" type character. A man of few words who destroys his enemies with without emotion.

Yes it is. Crawford knew what Top Rank’s stable was when he signed. He should have also known that history says Arum doesn’t work well with other promoters. If he didn’t then he’s an idiot.
And even if he was an idiot then after the first contract he should have known he wasn’t getting any big fights sticking with Arum. He made that decision to stay. He knew at his age he was giving up opportunities and money.
You may give him a pass for being content to hide behind Arum instead of chasing greatness…but I don’t.

impossible to promise that SOMEONE ELSE will cooperate with your plan. All Arum could offer was his best efforts to make the fight. He didnt have Spence, so no way to promise something that he didnt have.

If he’s dumb enough to take Arum’s word for it after his first contract was over and Bob wasn’t able to deliver these fights then that’s on him.
Arum signed Fury after he had a rematch clause already in place so he didn’t have much choice but to make the rematch as the terms were already in place. He had to be taken to court to make the third fight.
And Crawford isn’t nearly worth as much as a heavyweight fight that would do solid PPV buys. Arum couldn’t make money on Crawford for in house fights why would he be willing to do a co promotion where he makes even less?
I’ve never seen a promoter so happy to let a top P4P guy walk.

Second ; Terence Bud Crawford is comparable to a cardboard box , it has a purpose and that’s it
Third ; yes , the promoter is there to promote but the fighter has to do his share of the lifting and it will only bébés beneficial to himself

I don’t remember where I read it but I do recall Bud saying he was not gonna get involved in promoting himself ( this was around the time someone made fun of his wife ) he just had no interest whatsoever which in reality is really fughin ****** , even if you don’t stfu
Finally , just really disappointed in Bud , and I am a fan , being a fughin rat and trying to sue Top Rank and probably not having enough juice then decided to play the race card
