Arum signed Fury after he had a rematch clause already in place so he didn’t have much choice but to make the rematch as the terms were already in place. He had to be taken to court to make the third fight.
And Crawford isn’t nearly worth as much as a heavyweight fight that would do solid PPV buys. Arum couldn’t make money on Crawford for in house fights why would he be willing to do a co promotion where he makes even less?
I’ve never seen a promoter so happy to let a top P4P guy walk.
I’m happy Bud has cheerleaders like you to make dumb excuses for his bad business decisions. Keep hoping he’ll make a big fight now that he’s not with Arum. Keep the dream alive.
how many more times do you want to be proven wrong? You made statements about how Crawford couldn’t draw in his home state only to be proven wrong. Now you try to argue that when fury signed to arum it was when there was a rematch clause in place with wilder, which is also false. He signed with arum after the first fight and there wasn’t any rematch clause for that one. The second fight was made by top rank and pbc and not due to any rematch clause. That clause was only for the 3rd fight. End of the day, arum had made a fight with Crawford and a pbc fighter at 140 so he assumed it wouldn’t be an issue to do so again. He also wanted the pac fight. He underestimated the cowardice of the pbc roster and Al haymon. Since you’re clearly new to boxing, you should know that it’s the promotors job to make the fights, no promotor has made more fights than arum, ever, so Crawford took him at his word and got burned. Only a bozo like you would blame the fighter instead of the promotor. Unless the fighter is his own promotor and deliberately chooses to avoid certain fighters like someone you love.

Arum never protected Crawford, that's pure fabrication...made up nonsense. The best welterweights (PBC fighters) avoided Crawford or demanded unrealistic money that Arum was unwilling to pay, simple as that.

A promoter job is to put you out there, but ultimately it's the fans who watch on TV and pays for seats in the arena, so I guess all fans are racist since they don't want to pay top dollar to watch Crawford, Ridiculous on the part of Crawford. Instead of blaming the old man, maybe you should blame yourself on the lack of big challenges you refused to take because you want the stars and the moon when it comes to your purse, big challenges is what glues people to their couches to watch, or pay big bucks for a seat, if you don't do that, then take a long look at yourself instead of blaming everyone for your problems, that's what losers and cowards do....
Your post is so wrong, it's embarrassing!

Arum loves money and hates anyone who can’t make him any. That’s called business. This is imho a pretty dumb lawsuit.

          1) The three highest paid welterweights were all part of Arum's stable when Crawford signed to TR promotions.
          2) Bob Arum promised to match Crawford with the highest paid welterweight on the planet and failed two times to get Manny in the ring.
          3) Bob guaranteed Crawford three million per fight to resign short term but the pandemic made it impossible for Arum to sell tickets or keep his end of the contract. Bob tried to renegotiate the contract but Crawford wasn't interested.

Lastly, Bob Arum has an exclusive contract with ESPN and because of that, Bob no longer believes he needs to promote the way he once promoted Oscar and Floyd or the way Floyd and Oscar ACTUALLY promoted Garcia, Canelo and Tank. Bob isn't a great promoter anymore, he's a greedy man that controls network access.

And even if he was an idiot then after the first contract he should have known he wasn’t getting any big fights sticking with Arum. He made that decision to stay. He knew at his age he was giving up opportunities and money.
You may give him a pass for being content to hide behind Arum instead of chasing greatness…but I don’t.

This one of the weakest lawsuits I have ever heard of and how the hell are you going to prove that with a promoter who has been working with black fighters 60+ years. I agree his advisers are dumb as f(ukkk)! I like Bob and understand his philosophy and it all boils down to what sells ad make me money, and that's all that matter.

you were in the room? How do you know WHAT Arum did or didnt promise?

are you not aware of what the lawsuit entails?

“Crawford is seeking $5.4 million in damages he says were caused by Top Rank's failure to offer him a fight against Errol Spence Jr. and failing to live up to its end of a contract extension signed in 2018. According to the lawsuit, Top Rank promised Crawford a payment of $900,000 if he was not offered fight against Spence by the end of 2020.”

I remember Bob on video saying his advisors think that Crawford isn't yet ready for Manny, so depending on what Arum quote you want to believe in more you can form your opinion, that could have been the reason for not matching him up with Manny at that particular time, as we know it wasn't Manny who was declining the fight & Manny himself wondered why he wasn't given the fight following his victory over Jessie Vargas,

Perhaps Bob wasn't truly sure and confident on his Newer investment to get the job done & wasn't willing to gamble it all and instead go the other route.

I think anyone who knows boxing knows that Crawford would have hurt pac. I never saw any video of arum saying that but there is definitely video of him saying he didn’t want pac to get hurt.

In order to be a star you must be able to fight but also lure attention. Dont forget Muhammad Ali used his charisma and media to become a huge star.
