What do you think of Shakur Stevenson as a fighter?

I think he's a great fighter, and maybe a generational talent. He's very skilled, especially given he's not even in his prime yet. He has great handspeed, body-punching ability, footwork and defense, and he's got decent power.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he could win a title at 135 after beating Valdez.

      Future HOFer.

If he’s guided properly and fights the top fighters the sky is the limit with him.

He's probably going to improve with a bit more time, experience but he already looks elite. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up having a better career than the four young talents at 135, but he doesn't get as much fan attention/media credit as they do. He's very hard to hit, fast hands and feet, great fundamentals.

If looking for negatives, like a lot of guys who did well as an amateur he sometimes defends with movement too much, moving out of range rather than staying at the right distance to land counters. But he looked better at that vs Herring than in the past, I think he's working on counters and being comfortable in the pocket so may not even be a flaw anymore. He doesn't have great power but that's not a big deal. Loma, Haney, Kambosos aren't big punchers.

He looks a level or two above Valdez if we're being honest. Not often you can say that about a fight involving the top 2 guys in the division.

All above mediocre fighters are gEnrAtiOnal tAlenTs for these idiots. Only Canelo, Loma, Choco, Donaire, Fury, Usyk and Inoue are "generational talents" right now. Stevenson is decent fighter.

Definitely has the skills and talent. But if he stays on defensive mode where he does more miles than throwing punches then he's only gonna hurt his star power. But if he keeps it up then the guys who put asses to seats won't wanna fight him

I hope he moves to 135. One more opponent for Tank and Haney to duck.
