Because its not really like a jab, it can be initiated from further away than a jab, its targeting a place your jab cant reach, and its often used for a different strategic purpose than a jab is.

I really dont get the anti-kicking stuff. It hurts like hell (it initially hurts your own legs as well until they adapt to it), its effective, and its relatively difficult to learn. If you see some of the really skilled kickers whether MMA or obviously even more so kickboxing its pretty damn aesthetically pleasing too.

I'm not sure you can even legally wear spandex in unified rules MMA these days

Grappling is pretty ****ing great imho. I do think its something that isnt as instantly relatable to a casual audience as striking though. Its much more technically complex but typically at a slower pace and theres a lot more subtle things happening that dictate success or failure that the untrained eye isnt going to be able to pick up on.

Lol, you know MMA fans often say that boxing is not real fighting...right? its one of the main things anti-boxing type MMA fans say.

I'm not necessarily more of an MMA fan. It depends on what each sport is doing at any given moment. Sometimes boxing is doing better stuff, sometimes MMA is. 90s/early 00s boxing was far better, K-1 was better too. Mid 00s through early 10s it was close. 2016 boxing was in a bit of a post Floyd/Pac hangover while the UFC had Conor, Ronda, UFC 200 etc. 2017/18 the MMA was quieter apart from GSPs return and Conor/Khabib while boxing had the Canelo/GGG fights and the revived HW division probably at its most interesting. 2019 and Covid times i'd say MMA has largely been better, although there was a stretch late last year starting with AJ/Usyk and ending with Crawford/Porter where boxing was putting out quite a few big fights in a short space of time and had the edge.

It will be many years before Paul wins any titles in the sport of boxing, if any.

Floyd knows this game inside and out. But most of all he knows how to make money in this sport ..............Rockin'
He had the belt custom made for 500k. Most valuable boxer belt. Google it if you want to see it. He made himself a Champion, Nash respects that kind of thing. Nash out.

I’m a Masvidal fan. Been a legit fan since he was pony tail fighting for the 8th st latinas announce team in Miami .

that said he would get KTFO by Paul and I am not a Paul fan in the slightest.

Btw on the topic of all this stuff. Kicks vs boxing vs wrestling etc etc. There was just a fight thats kind of relevant ti the discussion between a muay thai world champ and an elite MMA fighter, first round muay thai rules but in MMA gloves, second round MMA but only 3 mins instead of 5. The MMA guy survived the first round, in the second the (significantly bigger and younger) Thai guy tried to just use his footwork to keep distance to avoid the grappling, but got hit with a perfectly timed takedown and immediately put into a terrible position, where he got choked unconscious not long after.
