Ok
A top boxer would see a kick or lunge coming from yesterday. Even from the top MMA guy
TBF, any of us regulars can spot those moves....unless we are drunk or incels.
Thing is, a top boxer is not going to be like a deer caught headlights and freeze.
The top boxer, again, would see the kick (grab leg and have fun with it) or
Throw uppercut hook if the MMA guy lunges in for a takedown.
Watching MMA fights is pretty entertaining but not for the reasons you think
So much sloppiness (picture Wilder fighting himself
)
Only until a wild punch lands do we get to see this so called expertise.
TBH, you have to tell me how exactly is MMA guy going to takedown a top boxer. Will MMA guy attack top boxer from behind ?
Now, what does MMA guy do if those moves fail ?

I see, it makes you wonder why MMA fighters, kickboxers, Thai boxers etc bother to spend all that time learning to defend against kicks, and why wrestlers bother to learn takedown defence, when a boxer or even a regular Joe can defend against them with zero training. Its even more sad that in spite of all their training those guys still get caught with those techniques all the time. They must really suck.

I also wonder why after roughly 30 years of skill development in MMA and plenty of fighters training with actual boxing coaches nobody has figured out that a fool proof way to defend a takedown is to throw punches at the person as they shoot in. If only Art Jimmerson had done that all those years ago maybe MMA would look completely different today eh?
Well, see, my thinking was that a former national wrestling champion who has spent thousands upon thousands of hours of drilling to take people down including in an MMA context where they could be punched, kicked, kneed or elbowed in the process, would most likely be able to take down someone thats probably never defended a single takedown in his life. But then I totally forgot that boxers were actually superhuman.Last edited by TMLT87; 03-18-2022, 12:34 AM.Comment

Your MMA guys success depends on them surviving a punch to the head (

) or a distracted top boxer. Allowing top MMA to sneak in that kick/takedown.
When I look at MMA guy's going at it, it looks like straight up amateurs.
Shlt only gets real when A PUNCH lands.
Not a kick or some video game level takedown.
A punch....FOR THE MOST PART.
All of that skillful shlt is left in the gym.Comment
