You're talking like this is an MMA contest. Of course Usman would do all those things you're saying and win in MMA, just as Canelo would win in a boxing match. This is neither. To me, "street fight" implies spontaneous confrontation. I.e. someone disrespects you and you get into it right there and then, no warning or preparation; no fight strategy.

If Canelo and Usman suddenly bumped into each other and got into an altercation that quickly became physical, Usman would not shoot for a takedown nor throw a calf kick or anything like that. He would swing for Canelo's jaw on instinct, I guarantee it.

Hell, we're talking about Kamaru Usman here too. I've watched all of his past six fights live in their entirety and, excluding the Woodley fight, he fought all of them primarily as a boxer. That's how he likes to fight, regardless of his wrestling background.

Canelo gets absolutely stomped in a street fight especially against a MMA professional..

So Usman is going to forget how to shoot in for a takedown "on the street"? someone with his wrestling background doesnt have takedowns trained to muscle memory every bit as much as a boxer does with punching?. Because he chooses to stand with other MMA fighters (like fellow high level wrestler Colby, or decorated BJJ world champ Burns ie people who stylistically can counter his wrestling) that means hes going to stand with a boxer who has no takedown defence?

I mean, it almost sounds like you're wanting to say that Canelo could win if he sucker punched Usman... "no warning or preparation". In which case I agree, a sucker punch is a way a boxer could win a "fight" with an MMA fighter, although anyone could beat anyone in that situation and thats not really a fight.

The boxers success depends on the extremely slim chance of them landing a KO shot in a tiny or possibly borderline non existent window.

I like how a boxer needs to be "distracted" for an MMA fighter to "sneak in" kicks and takedowns too

Well since we've obviously established that you're well versed in the technical intricacies of MMA and the various forms of combat it entails outside of pure boxing, I suppose you must be right.

You forgot to tell me that the boxer will be blindfolded

It's pure slop up until a sloppy punch lands.
Then, and only then do we see any kind of artistry.

So the end results are, MMA fans favor their guy and boxing fans favor ours.

          The end.

I suppose if you're a fan of both like me you'd favour logic and common sense? which in this case happens to fall on the MMA side.

The length some of you guys go to with the mental gymnastics and denial just because you hate MMA is crazy. Its not rocket science, MMAs skillset literally developed around pressure testing every facet of unarmed combat in an environment with minimal rules. Its going to produce fighters that can beat fighters from other combat sports more often than not as long as both sides can use all their skills, because they're simply far more well rounded and prepared for all scenarios. That doesnt mean boxers arent extremely talented or that boxing isnt hard (its probably harder than MMA overall because of the talent pool size, lower chance of Hail Mary upsets, fewer ways to approach a fight etc) but it does mean boxing has a very narrow focus in comparison so boxers have a lot of holes in their game once the rules expand to incorporate more techniques. It is what it is.

I genuinely dont understand what you mean by this?

when a big punch lands its usually pure panic and they go rock em sock em mode and Joe Rogan starts shouting "ohhhhh" over and over.

Yeah you're right, i'm not a boxing fan. I'm just here on a boxing forum, watch pretty much all significant boxing matches and was into boxing long before I had even heard of MMA.

You still havent explained the artistry comment, i'm genuinely curious....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k_5vIjjWVo The fight would look like this, Usman would get him down within 5 seconds and do whatever he wanted to him. Only people who don't know **** about fighting would argue otherwise.
