Canelo puts him in the icu on the feet. on the ground they would bite each other and eyepoke etc. no way of cheating true skills on the feet. grappling is for ******s.

Wrestling is rarely if ever utilised in a Street fight if it is its not usually intentional someones simply lost a foot in or stumbled.

People need to understand the dangers of using wrestling in a Street fight not just to an opponent but to whoever the wrestler is and that there are rulesets in both wrestling and MMA, there ain't in the street and neither do they take into consideration clothing of which will be grabbed along with adrenaline.

You can easily blow out a knee wrestling on concrete and its extremely hard to take a person down in the Street even if they have no experience purely because they are wearing shoes/trainers and the grip they have and movement/stretch in clothing.

Sure if can be effective and yeah at times be used as a restraint against a p1ss head but its a very dangerous game allowing anyone that close, period. You take someone down successfully they're either going for your face/eyes or going to bite chunks out of you as a natural reaction.

Usman would beat Canelos ass no doubt about it too many tools in the box for a street fight. Think usman will stand there and trade punches? He will get Canelo on the floor and break his arm with the swiftness.

People underestimate or simply do not understand how difficult it is to take someone down or be effective with wrestling against someone in shoes/trainers, especially an athlete and someone as balanced as Canelo.

They also underestimate the speed in which a fighter like Canelo can react and throw punches in literally milliseconds. Look how quick he pulled back from when Plant tried to slap him and unleashed 2-3 shots.

Fighting in MMA having a canvas, no clothing, a soft canvas, cage, separation etc etc changes a lot. MMA is not like a Street fight at all you will very rarely see 'wrestling' unless its two drunks falling over neither will you hardly see jiu-jitsu and so on and its not because of this argument about a friend kicking them in the head its cause they would get fingers bit off, eyes gauged and all sorts. In a Street fight ain't nobody going to just lay there either and wait for a mistake etc before trying to explode back up.

Wrestling is the most overrated thing in a Street fight. People have some weird perception its so effective because its so dominant in MMA under specified rules.

How many times we seen a 'wrestler' or MMA fighter shoot in a Street fight and actually be successful? Rarely if ever.

Canelo and not because he's a better fighter, but because I assume he's got more street in him.

I think people under estimate how easily it would be for a black belt BJJ practitioner to take down somebody with 0 BJJ experience or wrestling. As soon as canelo is on the floor he is ****ed and it wouldn't take long for Usman to get him there. I understand this is a boxing forum so we would rather have Canelos back but the truth is he would get ****ed up.

BJJ practioners aren't renowned for their takedown abilities its why they constantly pull guard or throw themselves to the floor hoping the opponent will be dumb enough to engage. Its a big flaw in the martial art as a whole.
Judo on the other hand is extremely effective and a much more complete martial art, very underrated.

Well BJJ practitioners/wrestlers would do a hell of a better job than a boxer would i think MMA is a lot more useful for street fighting than boxing 1 tool against several. Canelo needs usman to literally stand there and trade with him which wouldn’t happen.
